Very bad news from Health Canada

Hey: check on your MSN.ca home page and read the article about e-cigs.

Health Canada has just said that anyone importing or selling e-cigs in Canada must stop doing so immediatley. Don`t know how the rest of you feel? But this just makes me want to puke

Nuck: do you think we can still get our juice from Puresmoker?

I have 150 carts (all zero nicotine) because I like to add my own juice at varying strengths. And I have approx. 140 ml of juice. hmmm??

Your thoughts?

I know Steve at PS was getting ...... with orders coming into Canada. He had a few refused. You should probably grab any juice you can and build up supplies until the final decision on the juice is made.

Until manufacturers or suppliers put up the money to have the juice tested and then comply with the inevitable packaging laws, I think it's gonna be dry.

Having said that, I really don't think it will ever be hard to get personal supplies through customs. The logistics make it damn near impossible to stop.

From what I understand from it, Health Canada is just trying to put quality regulations on the product. Which I have expected them to do for awhile now. They want "vendors" to be licenced, which will reduce any fly-by-night sellers. The main issue will be having the liquid certified. Most of the electronics are already CE and so on certified.

For the liquid, we will have to know the basic criteria that it has to measure up to.

As for them challenging the advertisement of its a stop smoking aid. Well, I believe the success rate of the e-cig in its so far short life span has been more successful in getting people to quite then any of the gov approved methods. They say that it hasnt been tested, well we can testify. Many e-cig users never wanted to quite smoking, we loved the habit. But we were offered a new way to continue and many have.

As for the name "e-cig", honestly i believe we should change it. Classifiying it as a cigerette still places up to close the the "smoking community". Having a new term which seperates us from the tobacco industry termimology will allow us to create our own reputaion.

The name change could be a good idea. Get cigarette out of there entirely and call it what it is, a personal vaporizer. E-Vaper? Definitely NOT positioned as a quit-smoking aid.

I'm curious about the procedure taken by other companies who make energy drinks and such containing caffeine, etc. Is nicotine considered in the same sort of category as caffeine?

With the 'bulk' deal you get 15ml for 33 bucks?! Seriously, that's grossly overpriced. Unless you are lacing that sh.t with opium I can't see how you justify charging so 4x more than others.

Ive had good dealing with Sean from electronic-cigz.com - Premium E-Cigarettes, Cartridges and Supplies, and he is canadian, Prices are fairly reasonable. There is also vapesmart in Canada with really good juice prices and unflavored (although probably sold out by now), about 10 companies on these forums (at least) in the US still shipping to Canada and of course East Mall (and others) in China. Personal supply orders seem to get through quite easily.

Its a shame that PureSmoker no longer ships to Canada though.
