I just received a package from UPS. I had to pay a $32.50 COD fee and when I opened it, it was nothing I even ordered. What am I going to do with 4 kg of silicone cup cake molds other than make cupcakes. At least they are in some Christmas designs. I am still scratching my head on this delivery. Ha Maybe I can make a bunch of cup cakes for vape club

Brokrage fees are the biggest scam going total ripoff. I wanted to order a projection screen from the US and the brokrage fees were almost 1.5 times the cost of the screen.

Brokerage fees might seem like a rip off - until, when avoiding them, you end up having something sent back.

Couriers (such as UPS, FED EX, DHL) have in-house customs brokers. These guys know the law and work to ensure your items aren't refused by "mistake" of customs. Customs does like to occasionally "mistake" items as prohibited - just because they can and no one will stop them. It's expensive and frustrating.

So paying that extra brokerage fee might seem a bit OTT - but if it's bringing you something you want right away with no problems - it's also worth it.

I paid $1.45 brokerage once on a large shipment of hardware. It was definately better than the 6 week wait the previous round while customs found every reason they could to hold it until they ran out of reasons.

anyone ever have any e-cig or eliquid confiscated by customs when ordering from the US or china?

trying to find out if the selling or importing of ecigs are legal in canada but couldn't find anything just an article from Health Canada recommending not to use, sell or import them. heres the article

Confiscation seems to be the topic of the day in Canada right now.

On the law - below is the understanding I was given:
HC (Health Canada) has authority over anything that qualifies as food, drugs or pharmaceuticals - all under umbrella legislation (a blanket or blank cheque law).

HC cannot pass new legislation criminalizing ecigs or nicotine eliquids. They can, however, create policies regarding eliquids, then use their legislative power to enforce those policies.

So they can refuse entrance of any and all nicotine liquid into the country.

Hardware, however, is a different category. As electronics, PV's (ecigs) (shipped without nicotine) are covered under international electronics trade agreements.

HC's legal authority over nicotine can only be challenged politically - by requesting Parliament restrict HC's authority over eliquids - or order them to give eliquid nicotine the same exemption as nicotine used in pharmaceutical smoking cessation therapies (gums, patches, inhalers, etc).

It's a dicey subject. FDA's authority is much clearer and easier to challenge.

I wouldn't even phatom brokerage fees on e cig related products. I had my fill with archery and "bonsai" equipment. 1.5 times cost of item not uncommon. It is a scam, and pure BS.

I have as package stopped now with DHL from chine, my last package got through fine. This package is 2 ego kits and a little juice. The lady at DHL told me off the record that she is for ecigs and actually bought her husband one but it is her job to stop them. She told me in a "wink wink" tone if you can get me a bill from the seller stating this is just liquid and owrth less than $20 I'll see what I can do. So I doctored up the bill I got from the seller to show just some nicoteen free e-liquid worth under $20 total and sent it in. Now they are asking me to come in a fill out a bunch of paper work to get it through. Can I get in trouble if they find out the package doesn't equal the bill? It's damb rediculous, i'm thinking now it's not worth it to take a day off work maybe I should just tell them to send it back. What a bunch of turd burgelers.

It's ok we live in Canada, nothing is going to happen. Just keep spewing lies until your stuff is in your hands. It's unfortunate but the only way we are able to get this stuff is by lying. God will forgive you for this one ;)

ups ground shipments is a real pet peeve. I added my name to a class action law suit against them for this brokerage business practice. I ordered a bunch of remote control car stuff from hawaii. it was for an F1. tires decals and such to make my car look like a canadian driver. the order was about $400 and I had to pay almost $200 to ups when it arrived. yet if you pay the more expensive shipping rate, world saver air, brokerage fees are included and it works out often to cost about the same... to me that is a scam. it's like advertising a car for sale that isn't actually on the lot and using bait and switch.

I figured if I'm really serious about Vaping and quitting analogues
I may as well buy a high end product. A shame there isn't the same
choice up here as in the States.

That is so smart, most of us wasted a lot of money getting to our preferred PV (until the next best pv comes out :)) I can't say it wasn't fun along the way though.

Edit: typing on my IPhone so the config is messed up.

I started with a kr808 kit that did the job but both batteries failed on me within the first week.. kudos to the vendor who provided me with spares (although when i look back at it the kit was quite overpriced)
i decided to order an ego-t kit (which is now for sale). while that was being shipped to me i ordered a Silver Bullet.

I also found out that dripping is the way to go, so the hunt begins for the perfect atty, i like the nhaler rebuildable kit but i also want to use a drip on demand kit, so that wont work. The hunt continues......
