It's always interesting to see the learning curve on new vaper's. :)

Majority always want to start with something that "Most Closely" resembles an analog, and juice flavor that "Most Closely" mirrors their analog brand.

Within a month, many are already buying kits with larger, longer lasting batteries, and experimenting with dozens of sampler packs of flavors. :)

I'm not going to start a cartomizer vs Atomizer debate, both have their merits. To say an Atty is primarily used for drip testing flavors, is hardly accurate. Many use Atomizers 100% of the time.

The main focus is to find a kit, that reliably produces quality vapor and flavor, and get your feet wet, and see if vaping works for you!

If you want to go with a larger battery, and stick with 808 threaded gear, I absolutely LOVE the Igo from NHaler • Smoking Alternatives. 1300mah battery will easily last you all day at work(and into the night depending on usage) Plus, those g5 clearomizers I mentioned work awesome on it (as will most other 808 cartos).

Yeah my idea here is find something I can still step outside with smokers and enjoy without looking like a total fruit lol At least til I get them to switch with me :p

I am already curious to try new flavors and bigger batteries, mainly because I thought the Blu disposible mentol actually tasted like chocolate, just left a bad after taste. Nevertheless it was enough to make me curious. I do rip offs exist. Afew puffs of the barely tolerable 150$ ecig at the mall taught me that. I made the guy mad when I litterally LOL at him when he told me the prize, all I said was "good luck with that" and walked away

Deathwhitch, do yourself a big favor and read nosmokie's thread. It does give you a good progression of how this CAN go. Yup, you're gonna feel "lost" at first but that will start to sort itself out after a while. You'll come to understand some of the "lingo" of e cigs and vaping as we all have.

I'm not gonna try to give you advice on what kit to buy. However, I will tell you that one: vaping is NOTHING like smoking. Yes, it can be a very good alt. to smoking but the hardware and juices and yes even the technique used to vape is VERY different from using analog cigarettes. We like it that way . . . Two: whatever you decide to buy, learn to use it properly before making the decission that it doesn't work for you. Give it a chance. Ask questions about it. If you find that in fact it isn't the right e cig for you, try to figure out why. Again, ask questions. Do you need more TH? Do you want more vapor? Perhaps a different juice? More or less nicotine strength? ANYTHING you ask CAN be answered here.

Welcome and good luck to you! :)

There is a trade off. If you want a "cig lookalike" you'll have to take a hit on battery longevity. It's just the way it goes. But the XL sized batteries from v4l easily last me 3 hours. And I really use the hell out of them lol. So two of those, with one always on a charger wouldn't be a bad deal imo.

Yeah the v4l seems to be a good start, just wish I could one of each type of batt and different flavors with the kit. Also I just simply refuse to call cigs an "analog" lol as a tech that terms doesnt feel right when applied to tobacco, I'll just call them "traditional" cigs. Seems more fitting

You may have luck looking in the clearance section for batteries if you want to get one of each. That way you can just piece a kit together.

Everyone seems to have gone through the same initial steps in entering the vaping world. Simply put, you can't talk a new user out of buying an e-cig with the same size and look as a real cigarette. Seems as normal as can be. Thing about it is it's compounded with ads like this:

Real E-Cigarette Reviews of the Best Electronic Cigarettes | Top5ElectronicCigarettes.com

Question is, is it necessary that new users have to go through with buying these kits because it's almost certain they will want to upgrade to better devices with longer battery life and larger liquid capacity? I don't know about you guys but when I used an e-cig for the first time (a real cig look-alike) I didn't treat it like a real-cig, ie, puff, then pause for a while, puff, pause, etc. I vaped like a mad man. It may be because you're trying hard to get the same sense, like TH, you get from smoking a real cig. Result: battery is dead in no time. How are you supposed to be able to quit smoking from that?

I don't know. Maybe it's good business. Companies grow. People get employed. It adds to the economy. Spending a hundred or more may not be a bad thing especially when it involves your health, which is priceless.

I've been very happy with the Vapor4Life products I've gotten, and their forum here on ECF is very active. As is their facebook page. I've had a couple of questions and they have gotten answered very quickly by their active community. And I don't have to post 5 times before i can ask them a question (if i post on face book instead of here.)
