Just wanted to say a quick hello as I'm new to the forum and very new too vaping!

I've got an itaste MVP 2 with a kanger geni tank mega and I'm vaping space jam astro e liquid.

however I'm not getting on to well with it, so could do with some help. My liquid seems to have no taste so was hoping someone could maybe give me some pointers on voltage and wattage settings or weather I should try a new tank or different liquid?

any help would be fantastic as I want to give this a good go and enjoy vaping!

thanks and happy vaping people :)

Hello ratkinz and welcome. One issue we all experience from time to time is "vapers tongue" There is a search box at the top of every page useful in looking for answers. Everyone has different tastes, so if you have a local vape shop to go and sample the flavors you might find something more to your liking. Forum Suppliers <---is useful for shopping online. Search for coupons if you shop online, most give ECF a discount. There is a link in the bar of every page. Good luck.

most single coil heads do best at around 8w really its like 6-8.5w - not sure if the geni tank is dual or single...
other than that, drink lots of water, play with the airflow a bit (if it has air flow control), and remember each juice does better at different wattages.
Good oral hygiene is helpful in reparing overloaded taste buds - as does adding menthol liquid to your vape rotation, eating spicy foods, smelling coffee grounds etc. things that shock the senses :)

Welcome aboard! There are so many variables it's almost impossible to discern what the issue is based on very limited info. Is this your first device or have you upgraded already? As I understand it, the MVP 2 is voltage adjustable up to 5 volts and the watts are adjustable up to 11w. What are your Watts set on? Second, the Kanger Geni Tank has adjustable airflow that will impact your flavor. The less airflow, the more flavor. The higher the airflow, the more vapor, but less flavor. Your choice of juice can make a difference as well. Some e-liquids perform better at different watts. What juice are you using? Do you know the VGA/PG ratio? It's all good, the learning is half the fun! Good luck!

Hi Bluzking, the MVP 2 is my first device yeah, a work colleague recommended it but they have very little knowledge on vaping but said they liked it! And yes your right about the voltage and wattage. I have it set at 6.5. With the variable air flow I have it half open, but feel this causes me to lung inhale all the time. And the juice is called space jam astro and I believe it's a 50/50 mix and is meant to be a fruity flavour? Thanks for your time and help

There is an MVP 20w and 30w out. Its the same size as the v2, but more battery capacity and higher wattage.
The iStick 30w is getting great reviews and is a smaller battery.
If you want to rock a huge box mod you could get like a segelli 150w - it's HUGE though.
About double the price, but the sx mini looks like a fantastic little mod - single 18650 (repleaceable battery) and capable of 60w.

Check out several youtube reviews before you make your next purchase would be my ultimate suggestion :)

Cheers hectic energy for pointing me in the right direction, jus so much to take on board and is a bit confusing. Thanks for your help

Your APV is great, stick with that and stay away from the "hybrid" tanks (.5ohm - subtank/atlantis/delta 2)
The nautilus BVC (regular or mini) get great reviews - a step down from that but still a great tank is the Aero Tank.

Sorry gonna sound dumb but what's APV and BVC lol

No worries! you got questions, ask! We were all new not to long ago, things have only gotten worse with all the new products and companies comming out every other day, or so it seems!

APV - advanced personal vaporizer
basically there are a few categories
1) Cigalikes - blu, most njoy products, etc (they look like cigarettes)
2) eGo - about the size of a cigar or thin cigar, long with a 510 connection on top for use with clearomizers (like the geni tank)
3) APV - everything from an MVP/Vamo to a Segelli 150w
4) Mechanical Mods - some times lumped in with APVs but basically its a battery tube. no regulation, no safety except for whats between your ears.

BVC - bottom vertical coil. basically its the style of coil inside the manufactured replaceable head. There is also BDC (bottom dual coil) BCC (Bottom Coil Clearomizer) OCC (Organic Cotton Coil if I remember correctly) and I'm sure a ton others.

I have a Sigelei 150 Watt box mod, and it is a killer device, but to be frank, that's overkill for you right now (IMHO). I would adjust the watts in your existing mod up a little and see if that helps. You are not going to hurt anything even if you go up to the max 11 watts. But I would suggest incremental increases. A 50/50 VG/PG blend will also be a little more harsh than a higher VG juice, although everyone has different tastes. Nicotine level can also increase the throat hit, and I don't think you mentioned that. As you can see, there's a lot to contemplate, but don't despair, you'll get it figured out. And the Aspire Nautilus tank (Nautilus Mini) would probably be a good investment. They are almost foolproof, and provide decent flavor and vapor.

You also didn't mention the amount of vapor you are producing. If you're not getting flavor OR vapor, then there is a definite issue. But don't worry, it's all good! People on this forum are more than willing to help!
