I've been using my Grand for 5 months, 3 weeks, and one day. I've used Eastmall, ikenvape, and Boge 510 atomizers. I've used Bauway and ikenvape 306 atomizers. I've used Boge and Smoketech cartomizers. I've used adapters for various ikenvape 801 attys and a 901 atty. I've used 3.7 volt, 5 volt, and stacked RCR 123's for 6 volt vaping.

My spring has not collapsed.

I'm not saying it will never happen nor am I saying not to be careful with your gear. Double check everything. Don't over tighten. Use your multimeter. All that stuff.

Just take heart that it's not a question of when, but IF. And IF it does happen to you, you already know that Rob provides the best customer service and will get you sorted out.

Nevertheless, don't follow my example. buy multiple Reos if you can swing it.

I got my Mini 2 days ago. Upon reaching home, filled up my bottle, put in my batt and a week old Joye LR 306. Then I pressed the button...I saw a wisp of smoke coming out of the squonk hole. This can't be happening!! So there it was, a collapsed spring, it didn't even give a chance...

It was a good thing that, when I ordered my mini, I ordered the rebuild kit from Rob precisely for this reason. That I lived way across the pond and that it was going to be a pain sending it back for repairs.

Oh I also ordered 2 rebuild kits for my 2 Grands.

Rob said that I might have screwed in the atty too tight and that the positive and negative made contact.

Yikes Knock on wood This has never happened to me yet! over a yr of vaping on my reos .......But im thinking i should order some springs from Rob just in case lol

Because honestly i dont always meter my attys.....

Edited above, but here is the rest of the story.

Rob PM'd me and ask me if I was certain it was the atty.....
He has had a small problem with a few of the gaskets being bad (bad gasket ... shame on you)

First of all .... we all know it, but it needs repeating ..... Rob is a great guy.
A lot of vendors would send me the spring (for a ridiculous charge) and let me think the problem was the atty not in the mod.

Not Rob, he wanted me to be sure because he's had a few bad connector gaskets recently.
So I pulled the spring out of my black mini ..... install it on the Nickel Mini
Take the carto thats been working fine on the black mini screw it just snug on the Nickel mini
Take the battery from the black mini ....... you get the picture

Hit the button and poof ..... there goes another spring.
BTW, this time I had the door off and was watching, wow it happens in a flash

So indeed there was a problem with the connector.

For the record, I never ever over tighten an atty or carto.
I like about the lightest draw possible so I am always searching for the atty to be
just tight enough to not wiggle so I get as much air flow as possible.

So thanks to Rob for being an all around great guy for having me check things better.
His desire to have every customer happy has made me ...... well happy

That just saved me several days and more frustration just because Rob was upfront and honest as always.

So my mini is on its way back to Rob today for an overhaul.
I'm still ordering a few springs to stock.

I know I have to send it back, but I feel great about the whole situation.
Every month or even week Robert does something that garners even more respect from me.
Thats a tall order!

Yep and it could have I've been thinking about that.
But Rob has had a few bad ones too so we may never know for sure.
My guess would be no, but I am often wrong so maybe

But thats one more reason I am glad Rob is going over it and stuffing in some new parts.
That would have always been in the back of my mind.
Now I know it will be like new again.

This mini has had some bad Karma ..... A fresh shot of porky dust and its going to be just fine.

Its inside the connector and isolates the pos from the neg ....... so if it fails its instant short out.

Oh crap. You made me pull out my magnifying glass. Now I have to get out the QTips and resolve to do a better job cleaning my overflow well.

This is a good reason to send your mod in for a once over if you short it. Turns out my mini had the very same problem. I know this won't account for all the shorts by any means.
