VG and Water

Hello All....

I´m reading/learning about DIY before buying or doing something...

I usually read that some people like 50/50 PG/VG, but then I read that some people mix the VG 4-1 with distilled water

When they say 50/50 the VG part is pre-mixed with water?

50/50 usually means no distilled water otherwise they would mention it. BTW 4-1 is the absolute maximum amount VG should be diluted, otherwise you will feel like you are vaping water. For 50/50, I would go no more than 3% of total volume in DW : 48.5% pg, 48.5% vg, 3% DW.

Generally speaking, water is used in place of some or all of the PG. Straight VG mixes are very thick and do not wick very well. Water thins VG more effectively than PG, so for a PG-free mix, 10-20% water is usually enough. For mixes with low percentages of PG, the amount of water required should be scaled down accordingly. Just how much water is needed will depend to some degree on the hardware you vape with and the amounts and types of flavorings and additives used. There is no firm rule for how much water to add, you will need to experiment a bit to find what works for you.

It is less expensive, and some people don't like the taste and throat hit from PG. And there are some people who are sensitive to PG and need to minimize or completely avoid it. Some people report less dry mouth when not using PG. I don't add it simply because I do not need it, and it is one less chemical I need to keep track of, but if there is some in my flavorings, I do not worry about it.

(I cant vape PG and water will rust your pipes.)(just remember cheap booze aint good and good booze aint cheap.Vape what you like too drink)

I have heard that some people use vodka and like it. Not sure which pipes you are saying will get rusted by water, but your 90 proof booze is about half water.

What booze do you usually use?

Several apple flavors get bourbon, grape and berry get rum.

I do not drink Vodka so I do not use it.


I use High Proof (90+) where I can to keep sugar content down.


And the Cuban Cigar always gets Scottish Whiskey!
