VG harmful?

Read this on another forum. Can anyone verify this?

"On the other hand, we had several complaints regarding VG. Please don't use VG. It is not safe and here is the reason:

The problem with the VG is not apparent until you do careful study of the SINGLE POINT TEMPERATURES that are possible in certain small areas of the atomizer itself. The filament inside the atomizer will easily reach 300C each and every time it is used! Therefore, toxic acrolein is ALWAYS produced when atomizing VG in this way."

This has been pretty much beat to death in various threads, and I believe you can find those threads with a search.

Bottom line, there has been no data to support the claim that acrolein is produced during the vaping process.. and there has been data submitted to prove that it isn't.

Secondly.... the folks who tend to bloviate about this are not chemists and for the most part don't understand the process behind the creation of acrolein. It takes more than just heat.

acrolein stinks - like burning fat - I think you'd notice it if you were vaping it.

i really don't think the atomizers get to 300C anyway

If it is produced, it is in very trace amounts. I second the above - it's a burnt fat or burnt grease smell, you'd taste it right away. Also, 300C is very hot... approximately 575 F. A very dry atty might hit that... but if it's dry, there's no VG to turn to acrolein anyway.

There are many threads here that address and dismiss this debate including studies. So I am closing this thread. Please use the search term acrolein.
