Be patient with me, I am still experimenting. ;) Also the question mark key is acting up on my keyboard, so most of these statements are in question format!

I am looking primarily at good blends for ego tanks and cartos. What are the best blends to use in each as I have recently learned they deliver a much different taste.

Can a dull flavour taste better in a carto than a tank or will it be even more muted.

What is the taste difference between the 50-50 and 70-30. I do find a straight VG a little thick in the tank, but flavour is nice.

Your thoughts!!!

VG is sweeter, smoother, and offers less flavour, but more vapor. PG offers more flavour and throat hit. (Or did I mix up the flavour properties? If so, someone will help me out on that one). Anywho, most people tend to like 80/20 or 70/30 with PG being the dominant percentage. This way they get plenty of vapor with an excellent throat hit. Some vendors, like Mom & Pop Vapor shop, blend each juice with the PG/VG ratio that it tastes best at. I find these juices to be "best" (in my subjective opinion, of course) because they're always perfectly flavourful. A dull flavour will generally taste dull no matter what you put it in. I'm not sure what you mean by an "Ego tank"? Do you mean a Stardust?

For cartos, you're going to want to stick to a PG dominant ratio because a VG dominant will clog your carto and really diminish the life of it. Cartos do no mute flavours in my opinion, I find that flavours are just as good in a Boge or Kanger carto as they are with dripping. Some will say that the polyfill "mutes" the flavour but I have never experienced this myself.

Ego tank = the tank on the ego c, I havent experimented with the stardusts yet :) Thank you for the tips, that is exactly what I was looking for.
So it is best:
Cartos = 70-30 or so & NO VG
Tanks are ok with VG & 70-30

The mixtures with a greater portion of PG work best for me, somthing like 60/40 or greater, a thick VG strong juice can be cut with distilled water or vodka but will lose punch. I personally keep a 500ml bottle of 60/40 VG/distilled in the closet and add a drop here and there as needed in mini mixes.

I find that tanks concentrate harsher flavors a little too much and work best with the candy/sweet stuff, carts balance out the harsher flavors a bit (like strong tobbacco's) and work well with pretty much any flavor. Jugheads cotton candy always gets tanked because it tastes so good I could drink it (not reccomended, lol).

Muted flavors in a cart is only temporary I find, kinda like a "breakin" as the poly wicks up the juice really deep, once full saturation is achieved it is gone for the life of the carto.

And if you havn't already, give Boge LR 2.0ohm carto's a try, they are cheap and work really well on stock voltages, they are like the Pepperoni pizza of carto's, everybody likes em.

The Ego tanks have terrible flavor for practically everything. Muted and musty. You want flavor, do the drip, or hell use an LR Ego atty with a cartridge. Nobody seems to use the cartridges, but I like em. Tastes just as good as dripping, and you don't have to get out the juice as often.

Even cartos aren't the best for flavor. Some are better than others... but they are so much more prone to getting that burnt taste than an atomizer. My personal fav is the SmokTech Dual Coil Mega Carto. Holds plenty of juice, decent flavor, and they seem to be less prone to burning.

As far as ratios go, 70/30 PG/VG is the most popular blend. But hey, if you drip, you can do 100% VG no problem.... but it's a bit like trying to inhale cotton candy. Too damn thick for me.

I typically use no more PG than 30/70. However I have been vaping on Juggy's juice for a while now and even his 50/50 blends are nice. For some reason though, even his VG juices are pretty thin. Like Chelly said, methinks he uses a bit of distilled water to help the mix along.

That being said, I find that eGo tank set-ups and carto tanks can't keep up with true 0/100 juices like Boba's bounty. I usually add some PG in them if I must. As for cartos, they are a ..... to fill the first time around with 0/100 or even 30/100 but after you run them through they are a synch.

I second Concat's comment about the carts. Anything on an open atomizer tastes great and I cannot be bothered with eGo tank setups and the like, they are awful.

If I had to choose anything, I would choose 30/70 PG/VG as my everyday liquid. I find it gives perfect flavour and I just can't compromise big thick clouds of vapor, they are more important to me than throat hit.

I vape straight pg. lots of flavour and throat hit. enough vapor. it wicks very well into the dct I am using, no need to open holes, no dry hits, no leaks.

I find vg is gooey. it leaves me feeling pasty and such like I have a cold or something. pg just dries me out a bit so I drink more coffee or water... that said many people find my straight pg too much th and cough when taking a pull.

From my little experience I find I prefer 50/50 VG because I don't need a really strong TH. I like a smoother vape with lots of vapor. Have tried a bit of 100% VG from Jugheads and that was good, but I'm steeping at the moment so can't really comment on 100% VG at the moment. For that matter I haven't tried 30PG/70VG yet either. Still experimenting.

So you see, everyone has different needs. Best to try some samples from places that allow you to mix your own ratio.

It's interesting to me though, after so many years of smoking, to realize that a strong throat hit is not what I crave the most, neither is a strong tobacco flavour. It's everything else about smoking that I need. Ask yourself that question it might help :)

This has been a learning experience. Everyone has such different experiences! With that said, I will continue to experiment, that's the fun part right! Or not, if you get a mouthful of juice. lol. I do find it interesting there are so many preferences, but that is the beauty of vaping.....variety.

I laughed to myself the other day, when I felt I was getting tired of one flave I had been using all day.....apparently the one flavour of cigarettes didn't bother me for XX amount of years. There's no goin back now :)

Thank you all for your input. :)
