I know VG is the amount of smoke/throat hit. PG is flavor. At least that's what I was told. My question.is how can someone smoke 100 percent of either one? All flavor no smoke? All smoke no flavor? Someone explain this please?
VG to my understanding has no effect on the throat hit, however, it does effect the vapour / smoke. That would be the nicotine that contributes to the throat hit.
VG determines vapor production. PG is throat hit, neither determines the flavor in my experience. I get the same flavor at 50/50 that I do 20/80 pg/vg.
pg=propylene glycol which is used in flavors but also used in the ejuice itself. It promotes flavor and throat hit.
vg=vegetable glycerin which is a thicker sweeter substance and can slightly reduce flavor but increases the amt of vapor.
You can use either or both in your ejuices.
hope this helps.
eta seems I too was a little slow in typing. LOL
Hello VG gives off lots of vapor and is less harsh than PG. You get less vapor and more flavor/throat hit with PG. 100% of either works, and you'll still get vapor. I do 100% VG it agrees with me. Once in a while I'll do PG, but if I do it everyday my throat gets sore. A mix of about 50/50 is the gold standard for most folks.
You could always get some small sample bottles of various mixes ( different ratios on the PG/VG ) and test them out to see if you prefer a different mixture.
Sometimes I do all 100% VG and then other times I'm vaping 50/50.
