VG will produce the lots of vapor, and has it's own, very mild sweet taste if the temp is right. PG add a throat hit and is often used to loosen up VG. Also PG brings out the taste of flavors generally much better than VG. Adding a small amount of distilled water will also loosen up VG and give a major TH depending on the amount added. You won't generally find fluids for sale with water in them since that opens up those companies to all sorts of regulations and controls. Hope this helps.

Hey thanks! That does help. Brings me to a new question too, what do you mean about distilled water? Im assuming you dont mean tap water then. Are you just boiling water? This may be a silly question, but where do you get distilled water from?

I have a fridge with one of those filter systems, is that good enough?

One extra piece of advice (from my experience, of course it may be different with others)...

I used to have low dose nicotine (6mg), but was never getting any real satisfaction. I upped the dosage to a mix of 12mg/18mg nicotine and now I'm very satisfied with the throat hit in addition to the 50PG/50VG mix. So if you feel you're still not getting the throat hit you want from the % of PG in your juice, try upping the nicotine a bit. Just be aware that it might take away a bit of the flavor. Cheers!

so your saying the methol flavor is adding throat hit for you? do any other flavors add to throat hit?

Acidic flavours seem to add TH for me. I have an Apple & Cinnamon and a Thai influenced flavour (lime and galangal/ginger spice) that are both quite acidic. I started off not liking the apple very much because it's so acidic and had a chemical tasting edge to it for me. I used it as a change from tobacco flavours however, and it's growing on me bacause of the great TH. Now that the atty is broken in it's also tasting a little less chemical and rough. The Thai lime however, only ever gets about two toots before I put it down. Two toots taste OK and it freshens the pallet, the third toot is just too much for me. I'll give the lime another week with occassional use and if it is still not working I'll put it in the cupboard for a rainy day (have to be a disaster though I think).

I do think the lime adds as much TH as the nicotine does, if not more. I'm not sure it's a good way to go though - I think if I used it all day I'd have a sore throat - it's that rough.

Generally, if the filter removes 99.9% of the minerals and all of the chlorine, then yes. I often use filtered water where distilled water is called for (various hobbies) but we do have a very high efficiency filter on our sink - 1 or 2 microns I think which is way fine. The only way to get better filtering is with a good reverse osmosis system.

Most drip type filtering systems are only about 50 microns or larger - it wouldn't drip otherwise, though they may have active ingredients that will help purify the water such as charcoal and silver halides.

Have a look at the specifications for your filter and then decide. The main thing you don't want to be vaping is chlorine, anthing else would be taste.
