i dont know if it's just me but, i am only vaping vg juices, and it seems i always have like phlem build up at the back of my throat. especially in the morning. is this caused with the vg juice? or does this happen with pg also.? this never happened until i switched to vaping exclusively and i vape alot now. just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

VG can cause a little bit of phlem. However, how long has it been since you stopped the stinkies? When I first switched, I hocked up "lung butter" for a while. More than when I smoked, but it stopped after a couple weeks. I think of it as the vape was expediting my expulsion of the all crap in my lungs. Granted I was using PG juices at the time, and to this day use a 90% PG / 10% VG mix. I do occasionally get phlem if I don't drink enough water, but thats my own fault. So my advise, to echo others, keep hydrated and wait a few weeks to see if it stops. If it doesnt, try a mix of PG/VG and see if it slows down, or go pure PG and see if that helps.

Yep, I'm thinking it's the VG.

I stopped using any juices with PG about 2 weeks ago and started getting the occasional phlegm in the throat a a few days ago. It happens to me regardless of the amount of water I drink.

I haven't had a smoke since May, but never coughed anything up until I switched over to all VG juices, and I have no allergies so that's not it for me.

I've got the same phlegmy thing going on, and I've noticed it more since I started hitting all those 100% VG juices from Alien Vapor. I drink TONS of coffee every day—two pots minimum—but not too much else; does this count as hydration? I'd like to stop the phlegm, but no way am I giving up my Boba's Bounty! 8-o

Another thing I've noticed that may be a contributing factor ... I'm vaping WAAAAAYY more than I ever smoked. I dunno if it's because I feel less uptight about vaping than I did about smoking (I got really stressed out and frustrated with my inability to quit the analogs; then I discovered vaping and never smoked another one!), or because it's so much fun, or what, but I've got four eGo Twists always going in rotation with different juices for different moods and tastes ... I still feel a thousand percent better than when I was huffing analogs all day long, but I MAY be overdoing it ...

Still, self-control was never my long suit ... :p

There are some other alternative explanations.

1. Almost all flavorings contain PG if you have a severe PG allergy it's enough to trigger it
2. Most Liquids are using artificial flavors- You could be allergic to one of them

My suggestion is to try 100% Organic Flavorings if you DIY or, try an Organic Pre-Made E-Liquid.

I certainly agree that these are possibilities, but I THINK I can eliminate them in my case, as I went for about a week vaping only plain VG (no flavoring, but varying amounts of nic) when I was trying to figure out my comfortable nic level ... I might add, vaping plain VG is actually quite pleasant; huge amounts of slightly sweet, neutral vapor ... and I still had the phlegmy thing going on, even then.

Actually, now that I read some of these responses, I'm thinking it's a natural reaction of the respiratory system trying to deal with the hygroscopic effects of VG (PG is hygroscopic as well, but not, it seems, to the same degree) ... that, and in my case, excessive vaping combined with insufficient liquid intake ...

So, apparently I've discovered what to do, now the question is: will I do it? Or will laziness, inattention and habit keep me happily vaping, hacking and spitting? I'm not sure you need a set of Tarot cards to tell you that ... ;)

do u vape boba's bounty right after it arrives? or let it steep.

Both, actually ... I typically get 30 mL bottles at a time (don't want Boba's to get stale! 8-o), and when I get each new bottle, I put it through my "rapid aging" routine*, and then draw off about 3 mL into a small dropper bottle (typically, a well washed-out empty sample bottle; I have loads!). This I put into my vaping rotation right away.

The larger portion I set aside in my "aging" box, and use it to refill my 3 mL "serving" bottle as needed. (Don't forget, I have at least 4 flavors in rotation at all times, so 3 mL of any particular juice will last me a few days, since I'm not hitting it all the time ...)

* Here's my "rapid aging" routine:

1. Shake the poop out of the bottle! (I have a special Robart model paint shaker just for the purpose; a solid 60-second rattle with this contraption, and I guarantee the contents will be thoroughly agitated! Ordinary wrist power works, too, just don't spare it ...).

2. Put the tightly capped bottle of freshly-shaken juice in a HOT water bath; let stand submerged up to the cap until the water comes down to room temperature.

3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 twice more, for a total of three shake/soak cycles.

4. Uncap the bottle. Let it stand and rest for about an hour. Vape and enjoy ... :)
