Just started DIY mixing a few days ago, today I have been experimenting with trying to get a good base so I can mix that up in larger amounts and then add flavors later.

I tried pure PG - tastes of nothing really

Then I tried pure VG and it tastes a bit unpleasant, sort of sweet and slightly gone off tasting.. Is this normal?

Does VG vary depending on manufacturer etc. or does it all taste like this?

Also is there any way of removing the VG taste? I noticed on flavourart they have some "wizards", do any of these help with the VG taste?

VG should have a strong naturally thick almost formented sweetness to it when tasted on the finger and will have a light sweetness when vaped. If that is what your tasting then that's normal. As long as it's labeled as USP grade it should be fine.

May I ask where you got it?
