VG users: Have you noticed your voice cracking?

I switched to using straight VG, with low nic, and have noticed my voice cracking, hoarseness, I sing, so I just wonder if this just a phase, does this pass after awhile? I've only been using VG for 3 or maybe 4 weeks, prob. closer to 3 weeks.

Just wondered is other VG users have experienced this and if so, does it go away over time?

Thanks!

Micki, If I'm vaping away all day, I get a dry hoarse voice. Wrecks my singing voice (kidding... I can't sing to begin with, but now it is my excuse).

Generally I do have about 1/3 of my juice made with VG to up the vapor. I seem to notice it only if I've been hitting and huffing away. ha. Maybe that is it? Are you vaping more lately?

Any reason you went to 100% VG? Maybe try cutting it 50/50 with PG?

H.A.H. I went to 100% in case of the ban, if I can't get PG for some reason, my goal is to gradually step my nic down to zero, using, Vegetable Glycerol, and food flavorings, then if it's banned, I can still vape. Maybe i could try 50/50 like you say, and stock up on PG, idk, the FDA's got so I don't what I'm doing any more. Lol

Edit; PG was giving me a sore throat

Ban on PG? Huh? Did I miss a new FDA Bulletin? LOL

Is this specuation about the FDA ramp up? That shouldn't change availability of PG.

As far as I know, you can get a 50 gal. drum delivered from a host of chemical companies on line if you have the notion and the bucks. Companies offer cheap 50ml bottles at several cosmetic DIY sites on line. I don't see that changing regardless of what the FDA does with nicotine liquid.

Drinking water often (I think we forget to hydrate since we've got a Vaporizer in our mouths and it's hard to get a sip in there with the vape, Ha). I spent a long day yesterday (up till 3am) pretty much chain vaping and noticed last night and after only a few hours of sleep, this morning, that my throat is raspy today. It isn't the norm for me though.

Water and a cough drop... keep an eye on it, and maybe ease yourself in to 100% VG slowly? Call me in the morning if there is a change. That will be $200 for my personal medical advise for singers (your rich and famous, right?).

When I was into about the second month of vaping, I had almost no voice left! Pg is now taboo for me, even at very low levels. 1 cart of PG makes my feel as though I'm strangling, chest pains, lung pain, sore throat and sinuses, very burned feeling, hard dry coughing. Something that I didn't want, for sure, after 44 years of smoking and a terrible cigarette cough. Serious reactions to PG can be cummulative, so if drinking more water, cough drops etc. doesn't help, you may want to go to vegetable glycerin, however both are humectants, can both be drying.
I finally had to finally switch to VG 100%, now it only bothers if I vape too much! (Sitting here on the Forum, for example!) Or mixing too much tobacco absolute in my VG does it also, so flavors can have an effect as well.
Most of us do not drink enough water, keep your tissues well hydrated!!

I take it you haven't had any issues other than a bit of a raspy Bobby Brady Bunch throat or you would have mentioned it. With as long as you've been using VG (and PG) I don't think this is a big issue at this point, and going to 50/50 may help.

No swelled sore throat, right? Well, I think we vape more if we're sitting at a computer, certainly vape more than I smoked. You do need to stay aware, keep hydrated and not listen to smart asses on the forum (me, ha). I'd think if you were going to have issues, they'd have shown up by now as more than hoarseness. Let us know how doing 50/50 works for you. Some have used PEG, but I don't have any info. on it or know how safe long term use is. You'd have to research that one Micki.

I'm not touching all these Brady things at all nor claiming any similarity to them. I would have too much trouble not bursting out laughing next time I am speaking in public and feel and hear myself sounding like I have post-nasal drip in the back of my throat if I allowed myself to think about the Brady Bunch.

I vape 100% VG because I have horrible reactions to PG. Now, it is also the worst part of allergy season for me so I am also on meds that help dry out my sinuses. What I do is carry something to drink (water, diet coke, etc) now wherever I go. If I sip often enough or back off on the vaping enough, I can avoid having to cough to clear my throat.

It's not a big deal compared to the problems PG gave me. I don't really like it, but it's a side effect I can live with. Try more liquid and less vaping right around the time that you need to sing.

My voice hasn't changed yet (still pretty young after all, only 63), so no cracking yet. ;)

Seriously though, my voice/throat complaint is that I'm constantly clearing it: "Ahem!" Drives my wife crazy; and, indeed, she constantly reminds me to drink more water. It does help (but not solve; maybe I just need to drink more of it).

I vape primarily PG (all the commercially mixed juice). So technically this post is off-topic, I guess. The juice I mix myself is 30% to 50% VG.

That's too funny! I'll remember this thread for awhile, lol

I hadn't even thought about alergies, I have always had sinus problems, and alergies when seasons change, it only makes sesne then to hydrate. I know that allergy meds have a drying agent them, and can cause constipation probs. as well as drying up every thing from tears to sinus.
