From a health standpoint VG and PG are about the same. However, some people are sensitive to PG and have to use all VG. Most people don't have that problem. VG is a lot thicker than PG which can cause feeding problems in some devices if not diluted with distilled water and/or alcohol. In juice VG provides more vapor but, it mutes the flavor and throat hit a bit. PG provides better flavor and more throat hit. Most people will go with a mixture of the two. 70/30, 60/40 and 50/50 PG/VG ratios are pretty common.

A properly wetted carto is not going to burn the filler unless you chain vape it so much it doesn't have time to wick. I've seen a very few discussions on the health hazards. I suspect they are minimal if it's just an occasional thing though. You can avoid the filler altogether with something like a clearomizer (I don't use those) or dripping or a bottom feeder.

Someone will probably give you better answers, but from what I've read VG produces more vapor, but less flavour and PG is the opposite. Most liquids are now a combination of both in varying percentages. I've also read some people are allergic to one or the other, usually PG if I remember correctly and it irritates some people's mouth/throats.

I would *guess* 0 nicotine is probably a bit healthier, but no one really knows and numerous people compare nicotine to caffeine, which is fairly harmless by itself and just a mild stimulant. No one really knows just how "healthy" e-cigarettes are, which is why many countries are being hesitant about their use and trying to limit e-cigarette import and sales. There will probably never (or at least not for a long time) be a comprehensive study, because most e-cigarette users are former smokers.

Polyfil isn't exactly a filter, it's more of a wick, which keeps the liquid in place, since it's polyester, it shouldn't burn, but I believe it does occasionally. Most people have switched to a tank or cartomizer option, where the liquid is just held in a tank, without the material.

What are big differences between the two?
Is VG healthier?
If I got to 0mg nicotene would the eliquid health concerns be completely eliminated?
Is there a healthier alternative to polyfill ecig filters? (I was wondering also if the polyfill is burned during vaping, that would sound hazardous to me)
Thank you very much for your help?

When I first started I was using 24mg PG/VG blend, it was harsh sometimes IMO.. I finally switched to 100% VG, much smoother with better vapor production... I used 36mg for 2 years and never had a problem(I now use 30mg).
Since I use unflavored or lite I dont worry about muted flavors from 100% VG.
As far as Polyfill? I gave that up over 2 years ago and switched to Direct Dripping on an atomizer... For me it gives the best taste and performance......

0 % nicotine? Im sure its better for you, but I would give vaping up then... For me its all about the nicotine.......

Both PG and VG that are used in ecigs are food grade glycerins that are used in inhalers. It really isn't the nicotine in cigs that's so bad for you, from what I've read, it's the fact that there's tar (which causes the nicotine to adhere to the inside of your body) and 4000 other chemicals in cigs that's the real health concern. You probably already know that there is nicotine in things like tomatos. I personally have gone from 31 mgs of nico down to 0 nico these past 3 months..simply for the reason that nico is habit forming, and I don't want to be addicted to it anymore. As stated above, the polyfill isn't being burned under normal conditions, but you do have to change cartos for the simple reason that the polyfill gets clogged with 'gunk'..meaniing dried PG,VG, and flavorings.

You can clean cartomizers but you can't change the polyfill.

If you're dripping in an atty, you usually drip 2-4 drops in and repeat every 5 puffs or so. It depends on the atomizer and how hot you are running it. What voltage and resistance you are using.

As far as safety, the PG, VG and nicotine are probably the least of the concerns. The real unknown is the flavorings. No real study has been done on the effects of inhaling flavoring vapor. I suspect it's nothing to worry about. But that's the biggest unknown. If I was over-concerned about safety, I'd vape 0 flavor and higher nicotine.

The choice is a matter of convenience to me. How many ml you vape per day is also a factor.

For me low resistance XL cartomisers are the preferred option. I vape between 2-3 ml per day and use 2-3 filled XL cartos per day. To keep the LR XL cartos from burning I only vape off 1/2 of the two ml capacity per carto, then it's time for a refill. On the average a carto lasts me 10-14 refills before the taste falls off enough to deserve replacement.

I've thought about going to a small 3.5 ml carto tank but with a pocket-sized APV like the E-Power 14650 I want to keep vaping as portable as possible. A good small APV, an XL carto and drip tip moves around with me all day long in a pocket. No leaks, ever. Packing along a spare charged 14650 battery and one or two filled cartos is easy.
