I wouldn't be so bothered by the vapers tongue deal if it didn't also feel like I was setting my tongue on fire. If I vape at all the burning sensation returns and I have tried lowering the voltage to produce a cooler vapor and other ideas I could think of. Taking short vapes at a time etc. Still same result in a few moments my tongue is burning again.

I have been drinking enough water to drown a fish. I have had no less than a gallon of water a day since I have started vaping and really I can't keep up. I have to use the bathroom so often people are probably starting to wonder lol.

When I started vaping I didn't have any trouble with my sense of taste other than some bitterness in the juice I was using. Switched to some 50/50 juices and the bitterness almost went completely away. I figured that should be good enough and I would get use to it in time. Now fast forward and I have almost completely lost the sense of taste and switching juices was only slightly better and the difference was terrible cause I must have fried some of the receptors for a particular range of taste making the other flavor taste like crap.

Also I have heard Vanilla flavors (that's the flavor I lost my taste on) have the reputation of wrecking taste buds? I dunno know if that is true but I need to try something else soon. I placed an order today but I have no idea how fast my juices from AVE Juice will arrive. I ordered up three that were each very different to hopefully find some way to stave this off in the future.

If your tongue is burning might you have an allergy to PG?

Also I don't think vanilla kills taste buds like a Cinnamon would, but I do think the vanilla flavors are very subtle and therefore subject to fatigue and/or dehydration.

Cinnamon was the only flavor I could taste through my VT.

I vape ALOT of vanilla daily and never have taste issues, but I do vape 3 or 4 other flavors throughout the day - I go through @20 ml / day (major chain vapor)

I have had vapors tongue for a couple days now it's real annoying. Matter of fact I have avoided vaping as much as I can to hopefully help also tried other things I have read to bring the taste back to my life. So all this really has me wondering is there any difference between using higher PG or VG juices that may make this show up less in some people. I can't imagine everyone who vapes going thru this every so often. It's really annoying my tongue has a diminished sense of taste and slight burnt feel to it.

So IYO what works best to stave off vapers tongue? If you are someone that's never had it I would love to know your secret!

Vapors tongue is just like getting a cramp. Just work it out man. Lol.

Actually I have no idea what vapors tongue is. Can someone please tell me? Is it like athletes foot of the tongue?

Everyone is going to experience vapors tongue at one time or another. I have been vaping vanilla tobacco for the last year and a half and I still manage to piss everyone off. Smart move would be to start at 50/50 and go from there. Everyone is different in their tastes. Just because someone says something doesn't make it fact.

Yeah, I am not getting the liquid on my tongue. I hope to try out some different juices soon going to try 100% vg. Also lower nic content.

Usually it's caused be vaping the same flavor. Switch to something different. Highly unlikely to be caused by PG.

If you can stop both... good on you. If not, don't give up on vaping. I had vaper's tongue off and on for the first couple of months but haven't had it since then. The bonus is that once the quit smoking/start vaping phase is past, everything will taste way better than you ever thought. I've had to modify my cooking to accommodate my higher ability to taste.

Well I have dramatically reduced my vaping. I may only be vaping .25 ml a day! Still haven't had an analog either. Been 12 days still have the vapers tongue going though :(. I presume it will improve and I should be getting some new juices tomorrow!

My VT time was SO FRUSTRATING. It didn't help that I was trying to limp along with Protanks that wouldn't cooperate, either. I DID manage to taste the burnt crap....lol Figures.

Listerine or any similar mouthwash works for me too. The best ive found though is spicy and sour Thai style soups as spicy as you can tolerate. :D

You would think it would kill your taste buds since you can not taste any other mild foods directly afterwards. I sure can taste the vape though. I think it is because it also opens up the sinuses and possibly some of the fresh seasoning like lemon grass, lime leaves and galangal they use in the soup.
