I've been vaping for 18 months now, and I started to get a really heavy chest, coughing, etc. I started vaping less (I don't cloud chase anymore), and it got a little better. But by my name you can tell I was doing 90% VG.

I am about 6 hours into 90% PG now, and a lot of the symptoms are going away slowly. I think I just got allergic to the VG. I'll keep this up for a while, see what the difference is.

Only thing I did that was messed up was that I changed flavors at the same time. Darn it! I know better than to make two changes at once, why did I do that?

I'm in the same boat. If I use high% VG liquid for any length of time I get shortness of breathe, and it was pretty severe the first time, as in not being able to get to sleep at night. I now use 70PG/30VG and am just fine. One bit of info I'll pass along in case it is for sure the VG causing your problem is that your symptoms might not go away right away, took me about a week and a half to get back to normal. Good luck

I usually vape 70-80% VG.

I keep my mix around 60pg/40vg. Any higher on the VG and I start getting that heavy feeling in my chest and for the most part I don't pull the vapor down into my lungs. I don't think I would be able to breath if I was pulling high VG down there. Just one more example of how different folks react differently to the same situation.

I vape MAX or High VG consistently and never have any reactions but with the cold weather I am getting a little runny nose all the time. I would make some higher PG e-Liquids but I don't want the throat hit. Sorry to hear the High VG isn't agreeing with you but why would you go from one extreme to the other so to speak? I would have slowly decreased the VG so not as much of a shock to the system. Remember as always just my personal opinion!

I decreased my vg % due to a constantly nasal drip.
I struggled with this for a year or so. I tried all kinds of things.
The first time I went to 70/30 pg/vg was vaping menthol at 15%, so it didn't help.
I finally dialed back my menthol % down to 1.5%. That helped.
Then I changed my pg/vg to 70/30 and that fixed the problem!
Just goes to show how each of us are different.

I'm feeling a lot better after about 24 hours of mostly PG. I guess I'm just personally allergic to VG. Nose isn't dripping as much, chest feels lighter. I was worried for a bit there, what if I can't vape? I sure as heck can't ever smoke analogs again.

If this didn't work I was going to just add nicotine to water and vape steam. No clouds, but oh well.

The vaping steam thing doesn't work, at least not with a traditional ecig set up.

Good deal!
It can be frustrating though.

It works fine. You don't get any cloud at all, but you get your warm hit and the effect. In fact, you get nothing, but if you watch the tank, the level is going down each hit. (Verified on microgram scale.)

Super tiny micro coil, about 1.5mm in diameter, 26 gauge, 10-15 wraps. Cotton, water, nicotine. It does work, just no cloud. Excellent for stealth vape.

Glad it's working out.
Water doesn't add to congestion? I'll have to try it..
