I have LorAnn Tart & Sour which contains citric acid, malic acid, water, and sodium citrate.Would that work in place of using vinegar?as I have 30ml's of it and have not used any of it yet.

That's what I've been using Chopper and it works great. I can't compare it to vinegar or lemon because I haven't used those but it seems to do the same thing, same results. Too much will dilute the flavor though.

I think the Malic gives it the tart and Citric the sour. I have been using this and citric acid powder in pg since starting my diy several months ago but have only added them to fruit flavors. Didn't want my Bavarian Cream to curdle.:p I did pick up some vinegar this weekend to see if it will jazz some stuff up, haven't had a chance to work with it yet.

Then we will have to kiss the steeping process goodbye...:(

Im thinking it will still steep or meld the flavors just not change color from the oxidizing part of steeping .I could be wrong . I dont think anyone knows exactly whats happening through steeping .All i know is it makes 95% of my juice get a hell of a lot better .

One thing i noticed is on my PBcup recipe i use 3 drops of lemon juice in and it goes from a light yellow to a deep almost neon orange in one or two days so it may just been the type of flavoring she was using .

Ok Forget about the vinegar or lemon juice . I just got some lorann tart and sour and it works far better then either of those . Tart and sour has citric and malic acid in it so its doing pretty much the same thing but better . I just tried some in a failed snickerdoodle recipe i have . I put 5 drops in 10ml and not only did it change it but it made my bad recipe really freaking good . I think i may just put it in everything . If it only came in gallons id be set .

I was freaking amazed ! It gave it lots of body , moistness and sweetness with a slight hint of a sour note .There not kidding when they say its a enhancer . I could barely vape that SD before and now im vaping it up .

Heres what i found to work for each thing best

Adding sweetness (other than sweetener) - Tart and sour (tiny bit)
Adding sourness - tart and sour ( a lot)
Removing sweetness/making bitter - FA bitter wizard
Adding moistness and feel while reducing PH- FA magic mask with tart and sour

Adding body and depth - although i dont see a big difference her but maybe with tobaccos it will work - MTS Vape wizard .

Only id like more info on is the caramel color

You should go with vape wizard then since its made to enhance tobaccos

Vinegar and lemon juice is gonna to work the same as tart in sour so its no help to you really if you dont want either .

Vinegar was used here for the citric acid so why wouldnt tart and sour work since it also is citric acid .

I dont have a clue. I have tried vape wizard did nothing for me. The vinegar took the harshness out and and added more flavor. I am really liking this and vinegar is super cheap also

I've been using Tart & Sour because I had it and didn't have vinegar. It doesn't make sense to use it if vinegar works just as well. I doubt vendors would be using the more expensive one if they have a choice... I'll be interested in what others say that have both of them. I've been using it in all my mixes and it does make a big difference....even in the chocolates. I keep forgetting to buy vinegar!

Hi mgmrick...been awhile. :)

Hi mgmrick...been awhile. :)

IMO tart and sour works MUCH better than vinegar . Not that vinegar doesnt work at all but it just doesnt enhance every part of the juice like tart and sour is doing for me . I just tried a side by side comparison of the two and found tart and sour to work a lot better . VInegar works a slight bit but nothing major . Lemon juice works really good and is a little closer to tart and sour . When i originally tested lemon juice and vinegar i went with the lemon juice and now that i have the T&S i like it even more .

Im not a tobacco vapor so i cant comment on that .
