Hi. I'm not a very heavy smoker, maybe less than a pack, and smoke only off and on. I've been vaping about a month now maybe, and find that if I vape more than about 5 mg nicotine level in my e-Go T, I will be coughing and hacking the next day for 2 solid days. I go over to my friend's house and vape with her, and everything feels really smooth and great that night. The next day, hack hack cough cough, can't breathe. Does anyone else do this? Regular cigs never used to do this to me, I smoked the regulars, not the ultra lights. Are these WORSE for me than regular cigarettes? The only thing I can reliably vape is Ms. T's Bakery 0 mg Chocolate Brownie. I can vape that all day every day with no coughing or misery.

Thanks!

grrrr..... i just wrote out a long post about the differences between base liquids and why they may be to blame for your difficulties but i hit the wrong button and lost the whole post

the short version: there are 2 types of liquids, PG and VG. PG is the most common type and gives a harder kick, VG is less common and smoother. I prefer about 20% VG because without just that little-bit to take the edge off i am coughing after every puff.

you are probably vaping a PG base (it is easy to tell, when you drip a drop is it closer to water or syrup?), so i would say on your next juice order see if they have an option to get VG or if they will make a VG/PG blend. if not i would recommend changing venders.

Buy some juice that is higher on the VG side. PG has a tendency to irritate a lot of people. I couldn't vape it when I first started. If you can vape 0mg, stick to that...it's better than the dependency that so many of us have to nicotine.

Light cigarettes are just a bad as a regular strength cigarette. Most light users don't realize that they take longer/deeper inhales than a regular cig user does. Therefore, you are ingesting the same garbage. I hope the clarifies it for you...a cig is a cig no matter what the box says.

Very true Hairball. I was an ultralight smoker and when I first started vaping I tried 18mg juice - like air - I did not feel it. I had to go up to 24 and even then I still have my analog urges. I have recently mixed a small 30mg bottle just for the urge moments to see if it helps me get past them.

Mrs. T's is good stuff. That said... every flavor isn't for every-person.... some have issues with ingredients be it PG, VG, flavorings, alcohol, etc. That's true for any vendor. (BTW it's one reason I DIY my juice... I have a rough idea of what's in it).

You'll never really know what flavorings and ingredients went into your juice (OK, there are a few vendors that try to list analysis of e-juice)... mostly it's "<Blah blah blah> + artificial flavors". The bottom line is... switch juice flavors, and/or sample another vendors juice and see if you still have issues. Or get some unflavored 100% PG, and unflavored 100% VG and see what they do.

Note this is all assuming that you know you are not severely allergic to either (don't want you going into shock). Since you are vaping a mix currently, it's probably OK to test out the unflavored stuff.

I had some VG that gave me mouth sores, and some flavorings can give me hives. So I'm sensitive to some stuff. I switched out the VG for another and have no issues with it (It wasn't Mrs. T's that gave me problems).

Bottom line is that you have to experiment and/or talk to your doctor/allergist.

Yes. In fact, I wasn't smoking at all by the time I got mine. I only smoke in times of stress and had been going thru a difficult time.

OK, well that does away with that variable, so I suppose you are correct in looking at your juice. Just wanted to be sure. Glad you found your answer. :p
