I plan to begin DIYing my liquid soon, and have read about this forum quite a bit in researching the subject.
RTS vapes was recommended and appears to be well priced, and with money back guarantee, so this is to be my vendor. I am not very difficult in my flavor selection, just want a nice orange cream. It would appear that LorAnn, at 5% is the best option here, would anyone disagree? Or should I plan to buy the orange and cream separate? And if so, would I then use less of each to get the same%?
thanks for the input

Search the recipe sites. Plenty of past post concerning orange/cream recipes. I would go with the separate orange and cream purchases.
BrotherBob's steps to DIY success:
1. Decide on the two or three best (O/C) recipes.
2. buy only what you need for those recipes.
3. Play with those 2-3 with %'s until you narrow it down to one great recipe for you.
4. Repeat these steps for any future taste adventure you think you might like to try.

Recommend you not buy other flavors you think you might like later. Always have a recipe in mind before you buy a flavor extract.

thanks, these are probably good rules to follow,I almost threw about 9 different flavors in my order. Just cause they sounded good.
my recipe, however calls for 5% LorAnn orange dream, and nothing else.
that's really what I was wondering about, since most records use 3,4,5 flavors. But I'd I want orange cream, it seems reasonable that I would need only orange cream

Yes, but if you buy orangcream, then you are stuck with the percentages of orange and cream that the manufacturer wants. If you buy orange AND cream then you can have either orange vape or cream vape or and orange cream vape mixed with percentages that taste best to YOU. To me, that is part of the joy of DIY. Doing it MY way. And then later, you could get some mango and have a Peach Mango Cream or any of the possibilities and combinations.

Best of luck and keep us posted on your progress.

I never thought about that angle. And I surely will get more flavors. As I get more into it.
Honestly, though my main motivation atm is to reduce cost. I'm spending way to much on my liquid, so I am planning on ordering a small amount of Nic, and vg/pg.iirc when I priced last night $40 would give me enough to make about a liter, which would last me 2-3 months, and in that time I could take the saved money and reinvest into bulk Nic, pg and vg, and start getting more advanced.
I do not dispute that it would be better for me to order them separate and mix it up more"custom", and I'm fact I plan to do that.i think I will still want to stick to LorAnn flavors, from what I've read.
But my immediate concern is to get started on DIY, with minimal initial investment, and stop the proverbial bleeding, if that makes sense. With that being said, would you completely advise against this idea, or just saying it would be better to go separate flavors?
thanks for your help,I feel like I'm being very dense

upon further research, it would appear that I am going to pay $15 in shipping, but ecx has free shipping at $60, so I still be better off to just buy more stuff, and get the shipping free. So I suppose I will be ordering multiple flavors after all. And more base mix

If you are ordering some more flavors then I would suggest either some more fruits to cream or another type of cream. Although I don't use LorAnn, most flavor makers have a decent Vanilla Cream or a Sweet Cream or such and that will give you several more options mixing the different creams along with the fruits.

Shipping is always an issue when you are talking about liquids. They weigh a lot. Unfortunately, there is no one vendor who provides it all. Thus the shipping cost issues. Also, you pay a premium when you buy in small quantities. It's kind of an in for a penny in for a pound sort of thing. But you will save a lot of money if you are able to keep it at the "just for my supply" attitude and not be like Sooooo many of the rest of us on this forum and turn it in to a great hobby! :)

well I intend to stockpile nicotine, at least a gallon of 100mg. And yeah definitely a premium for small quantities. It was $8 for 30ml Nic base and$50 for a liter. I've never been very adventurous with flavors. So I'll probably stick with my orange cream, get different brands and such to try and perfect it. Maybe a pomegranate, bit not much in the near future for variety

The only thing I would add is seeing you are considering buying large quantities start off mixing small (10ml) test batches until you come up with something you like. It would be a shame to jump in head first making 30,60, 120ml batches etc and finding its not to your liking or even gross and pouring it all down the drain. Now I know you said you did the research but you may also want to read through my blogs which will help you along the way.
