Hey All,

I'm an eGo-C vaper who's looking to try something different than the SR/LR C atties I've been using in my setup. My experience with the C atties so far has been mostly good, but occasionally the performance with certain juices is just a bit lacking compared to others, even with all the juices being 50/50 @ 18mg. Basically I'm looking for something that will be another option (rather than a replacement) for the C atties, and I'm looking at the Vision EGO Stardust clearomizers based on the reviews I've read, easy filling / maintenance, and price.

What I'd like is to get some opinions from the amazing people here at ECF on the following points:

  • How does the basic performance of the Stardust compare to the C atties on the standard 3.3v battery?
  • Do you recommend the LR version of the Stardust, and do you find it to be better with certain types of juice?
  • Is filling straight from the bottle easy, or do you recommend a syringe?
  • In your experience, what has been the average lifespan?

I may have one or two follow up questions, but if you would be so kind as to address one or more of the points above it should get the me information I need to pull the trigger (or not). :D

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!

I haven't used the C set up, but these work really well at 3.3-3.7v.
Get one LR and one SR and try it yourself, as that really depends on your likes and dislikes. I like the SR just fine.

No syringe necessary. Filling from a bottle is super easy and I haven't made any mess from the start.

I'd say that depends on the juice. If you use acidic or cinnamon juices the tube can crack quickly. I have been using Gorilla Juice in mine and it seems to perform very well. Life span expected for me is about a couple of weeks. Haven't had one fail yet.

There is no comparison to the stock C tank setup imo...it's like night and day. The taste is nice and clean, though you should know the draw is tight. We have been using them heavily with varying juices and the consensus for us is they need to be cleaned out every 6 or so fills. Cleaning is a snap and takes about 10 minutes. Haven't killed one yet (the wick/coil), however we have seen tank crackage. Overall these things are great and you won't be sorry imo.

Having said that, I have started using the ego mega dual coil cartomizers and love them...so consider them as an option as well.

Would fruit juices be considered acidic? I tend to alternate between coffee/desert flavors and fruit flavors (apple, pear, tropical blend, etc.).

What cleaning method do you recommend? Please post a link to an article or thread if you have one.

One other general question to all. There appears to be several versions of the EGO Vision clearomizer on the market (not just the Stardust). Has anyone compare the Stardust to others, and can you recommend one over the other?

Thanks for the info so far, and please keep it coming! :2cool:

I hated it when I first got it, but didn't realize it has a breaking in period. After about an hour of "meh" hits, the taste became clear and light. I like standard resisitance because I like a cooler vape. The juices that I have seen that are not recommended are cinnamon. IDK about apple or pear. Best stay away from citrus.

There are several "versions" of this CE4+ clearo (aka Stardust), but I don't think its possible to see the difference on pictures.

I tried (used exclusively for at least 2 weeks) both ego-c and stardust, and both have pros and cons. Its not "night and day" as suggested earlier, and my specific version isn't tight on the draw (I do know some people have those with draw issues).

Stardust is very... okayish. Its "easier" to fill than ego-c, as unscrewing the tip is easier than opening the tank cap on ego-c. Both wick okayish, though I find it rather irritating to have to tilt my PV when using Stardust. Its not a big issue, but every now and then in a normal use, I forget to do it, and I get that yuck burning taste.
Vapor is great for both, TH is okay, flavor is... so-so.
On ego battery, I'd say that "LR" (its not really LOW resistance, still over 2 ohms) Stardust trumps ego-c LR in several aspects. But putting Stardust on VV and raising up voltage gives me very ugly, vomit like, taste. On the other hand, surprisingly enough, ego-c works pretty well on higher voltages. Well, better than stardust at least.

Amazing thing about stardust is: zero leaks. My ego-c wasnt leaking. Almost at all. But still "almost". Stardust sometimes gets a bit condensation in the tip, but thats about it. Pretty perfect for giving it to someone who doesn't want to care about ecig, and for tossing it into the pocket.

Oh yeah, last note: some flavors just don't work on stardust. I don't know if its just me, but couple of juices I really like taste like crap on stardust.

LD was my initial guide on cleaning these...

Vision eGo Stardust Review - YouTube

What I do is a few shake rinses, filled half way. Then I actually take a toothpick, insert it into the center post, then give it a kind of wiggle/pull motion. This frees the rubber cap from the sides of the tube and makes it easier to pull up. Then I rinse further, as shown in the video. Some folks have said that they just dry burn these to clean, however, I haven't attempted to just do that as a cleaning method.

There are some big differences you failed to note. The actual CE4+ is made by MiT and is slightly larger than the the similar (and first I believe) made by Vision.

It's pretty easy to see the difference.

I love my stardusts! I haven't even touched my standard c tanks in weeks! In my experience the flavor and vapor production are much better. I use the sr version because, like dlsw, I like a cooler vape, and as far as draw goes I bought a few from one company and had a very tight draw and bought a few from a second company and had no problems at all. As far as life span goes, I haven't killed one yet, but I rotate and clean very regularly. The big problem I have with them is that they do react to certain flavorings. Two of my favorite flavors are capable of melting the tip and clouding the plastic in less than an hour. This list may give you an idea on some flavors to avoid. Flavors and Juices that are known to react with polycarbonate : Big Daddy Vapor

The ones I use are called "Vision Ego Clearomizers" and after vaping 2 years, mostly with my original eGo equipment (haven't tried C's, had the original ego, the mega, and both type a and type b tanks). I have been using them for a month, zero leaks, super easy to use, I am having great flavor and vapor. I don't know how long they last, after a month none have died on me yet (using about 6 in rotation, vape all day long).

I LOVE these things. Tried a few others, these are hands down my favorite.

Confusing huh? :)

I thought that the larger MiT CE4+ had no lines and the thinner coil tube.

These folks sell both.

CE4+ eGo Clearomizer - MyFreedomSmokes.com

And the Visions which I guess are the Stardust. With lines.

Vision eGo Clearomizer - Low Resistance - MyFreedomSmokes.com

Very confusing :)
I never actually saw that bigger version with thinner coil tube. If that one is from MiT, than I can only conclude thats just another version made down the line, and vendors came up with the name to differentiate one from another.
Basically on Microcig site they say they are the only original factory for all CE editions, and for this product it says: "Also known as : E-Turbo, CE4+, Ce4 plus, Vision, stardust, CE4 Clearomizer."
Its a bold statement that can guarantee them a lawsuit IF its not in fact true, so I tend to believe that they are in fact the makers, and vendors are simply rebranding them with "cooler" names like "stardust".

I also have those from microcig (latest versions, with a that tiny metal piece at the top of the silicon cap), and they work great.

Thank you for this list!!! I was thinking I was losing my mind when I filled my purple vision with root beer float from FSUSA and the tube clouded over! Then I noticed the tip even started to look like it was melting when I unscrewed it for a refill. Argh I think I have destroyed this one :( but at least now I know why it did this.

Hey, i think you should definately try the Mini Vivi Nova Clearomizer tanks. These babies can fit 2.0mL in them and are mad reliable with absolutely no leaking issues ever. All parts are replaceable, so you can get a new head every month for $3 instead of buying a new clearomizer for ~$7. Just make sure to clean it every once in a while when doing new flavors.

Also, great thing about this is that you can get METAL tanks for them if you really love your acidic/citric/cinnamon flavors. I've actually heard that the regular plastic tanks won't really run into issues, but these metal tanks definately won't run into any problems with cracking with those juices. Here is a link to what I'm talking about, but you can google for cheaper ones of whatever: Mini ViVi Nova Metal Tubes - RED [gv-MiniViViNovaMetalTube-RED] - $3.45 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Also, I've seen there are new vision stardust eGo V3 clearomizers that have replaceable parts, but I don't think you can't get metal tubes for your more stronger juices.

finally, i read that there are smoketech screw tanks that have new plastic that does not allow juice-leeching, but I have never tried it.
