Just wanted to see if anyone could help me with a problem I'm having with the vision extreme mini. I can't get a good consistant hit from this thing. Every now and then everything is great but then I quickly go back to getting a burnt taste that I can't get rid of.

I've fluffed the wicks, made the wick slots bigger on the cap, pulled the tip off and reinserted making sure there's no pressure built up but nothing seems to work.

Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone have any advise on how to fix this? I think this is an older version if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance for any input you might have.

Right now I'm using a 50/50 DIY. I have tried without the cup seal and that does help but then I do start to get leaking. Maybe I need to do more PG so my juice is thinner.

Thanks!

If taking the cup seal out altogether isn't completely solving your problem, then take a look at how the coils are wrapped. A 50/50 mix should be fine under normal circumstances. But if the coil is all crunched up, then it is going to cause you problems. So if they are crunched up, and bearing in mind there is some risk of ruining it by doing this, what you can do is take a needle and VERY gently spread the coil out.

most likely, everyone juice can come out different, if its way to thick it iwll cause issues, some get 100%vg to work though so not 100% whats going on but so many juices are so different that it can be that as well.

I noticed the same thing when I first started using them and I was getting a little frustrated. What solved it for me was keeping the the juice moving around in the tank. Between draws I hold it horizontally and roll the PV 360 degrees between my fingers. I also move the PV from a vertical position to a horizontal position back and forth between draws. It has become second nature. Doing one or the other has solved the burnt taste (dry hit) problem. If I get the hint of burnt taste I stop and move the juice around as described and it takes care of it. I really enjoy using the Vision Extreme minis and giants now. The taste and vapor is fantastic. For me there was a slight learning curve involved with these but it is well worth it. I hope this works for you. :)

I run into the same problem occasionally. I've found that if I rotate the plastic cup a bit, it's good for awhile, but then I have to rotate it again, and again, and again.... I'm using 80/20 PG/VG. I find it's worse with one juice than it is with a different one of the same ratio. It just seems like there is a sweet spot that is hard to find.

Here is something that seemed to work for me. I noticed when I vaped with the plastic cup removed, it tasted much better. I then ran a pipe cleaner thru the center of the cup and replaced it and so far so good. It didn't look dirty but there may have been something in there that had built up and was giving it the nasty taste.

When you pulled the cup seal out, were there any burn marks on the underside?

Now that you mention it, I believe there was on one of them.

If the underside of the cup seal was charred, it's most likely the source of the bad taste. You can use a hobby knife, and trim out the burnt part. When you reinstall it, don't push it down tight. Use the mouthpiece to push it down. Make sure the slots are perfectly lined up with the slots in the ceramic cup.

on mine the first thing i do is remove that inside ring that goes into the cup. just use a pair of tweezers and rip it all out. then i also sand a flat spot where the fill cutout is that makes it easier the fill. if you have it off look inside the cup and make sure the insulated wire ends that connect to the coil are not bent into the coil itself. i posted picts of this problem in another thread lol

Honestly, if I have to constantly rotate the damn thing while I'm trying to vape then it's not worth it. I had the exact same problems with this clearo and I tried all the same things you did, and more, to no avail. Save yourself the time and hassle and get some Boge cartos and a tank ;)

Since I ran the pipe cleaner thru this morning, I've had no problem whatsoever. I know I'll never go back to cartos with polyfil.

Well, I've come to the conclusion that the only sure fire solution is to remove the plastic cup and leave it out. All that cup does is cause the nasty taste and keep the juice from running out. I always carry mine in my shirt pocket anyway, so it always sits right side up. If I need to carry a spare, I'll either put the cup back in temporarily or place it in another container that is too long to slip sideways in my pants pocket. Also, need to remember to never set it down. I just received some clearomizers from another company yesterday, and even though they're made differently, I still had to remove all the rubber workings to get it to taste decent.

I saw that post, and thanks for it - none of my dozen or so have the problem, but now I know to look out for it, so 'ta. Could you explain the "flat spot sanding", please? I can't picture what you're doing, where. I remove the cup seals from mine and so it's the one drawback they have for me - not so portable. If only there was a way to combine the vaping experience of the visions with the perfect portability of the Sapphires! (I have seen an interesting looking mod on YouTube that cuts the tube down and alters the mouthpiece to use as a combination mouthpiece and cup seal, but haven't tried it yet).

Most of my juices are 100% VG (though I do thin them with up to 10% water) and I no probs with them without the cup seal. If I do use the cup seal, I tend to do the little 'v' enlarging of the slits - it really does make a difference (and I keep good 'uns and use them repeatedly!). So thicker juices are possible.

One thing that makes me wonder; you mention rotating the cup seal - are you lining up the slits with the wick slits in the ceramic cup properly? I can't picture how you could rotate the cup seal without either making them match up better, or stopping them from matching up (hence juice wouldn't wick properly and you'd get dry hits/burning). Hope you've gotten them sorted - they're great when they're working properly :) They can take the thickest, sweetest juices I have with no problems so long as I clean them regularly (I do mine about every three fills).

The moving 'em around to help keep the wick wet really is nothing - I don't even think about it (heh, and sometimes it's even kinda contemplative).

I 'reckon the different vaping methods are pretty much the same as the way most smokers have their favourite brand. Personally, I'm not fond of tanks at all - I find them bulky, ungainly, awkward and hated the whole fill process and getting them perfectly line up to make sure they seal...and...... and...
Doesn't mean they're bad, I know plenty of people love 'em. Just not for me.
