OK. So I get it. You have to plug in the Spinner II battery, let it charge till it looks like it's done, then disconnect battery from charger and reconnect to charger, then let it complete the charge. Making sure all the time the batt and charger connections are cleaned. And making sure you are plugging into an AS usb adapter, not a USB port on a PC.
So I did just that when I got home from work. One of my batts had orange light (only got about 4 hours useage today from it, BTW).
I am using...
AC USB wall adapter with outout of 5V and 1.5Amps (or 1500 milliamps)
USB charer with output of 4.2V and 420 milliamps.
After batt was don charging, disonnected and reconnected. Took about 30-45 seconds to get green LED and batt light turning off. For giggles, I did that 3 times.
So I chain vaped the battery using 1.8 ohm aspire ETS at 3.3 volts. Took only 2 hours for white light to turn orange. In other words, it only took 2 hrs to use at leasst 60% of my 1600mah spinner 2 battery's charge.
Seems to me that this method did not work.
Is it becasue my USB charger needs to have a minimum output of 5V and minimum 500milliamps?
So what if I use a charger that is 750 milliamp (0.5 amps) or even 1000milliamps (1 amp) output. Would that be too much or would that be OK?
Places online and my local shop are telling me that the charger I have at 4.2V and 420millliamps is fine.
What I don;t get it, Aspire does not need to release a charger. All they have to do is post on their website the minimum output ratings must be on the charger you choose to buy/use. That's all. Why all the mystery?
Why? I'll tell you why. The spinner II is probably nothing more than a cosmetic and "WOW" factor upgrade to the ho-hum looking regular spinner model. They made it look attractive, added a few minor features, and upped the supposed output to 1600mAh. But is it really a higher end VV battery over the regular spinner? Uhhh. I have my doubts. Just more of a fashion accessory, really. That's what it's looking to be, anyway. If they won't take 2 minutes to post simply what min ratings we need on a charger after so long, something smells fishy to say the least.
By the time they release the appropriate charger or tell us what the minimum output should be for a corect charger, the next new thing will be out and no one will care because no ones really wants or uses the spinner II anymo reat the point.
All we need is a straight answer right from the horses mouth. That's all we need.
