Vision Tox missfiring constantly

Ok, I brought a vision tox awhile ago
left it in the box and put it in the cupboard ( was planning on using it as a back up if anything happend to my lava tube, especially since living in New zealand means it takes ages for things to get here )
I recently gave my lava tube away so decided to pull out my vision Tox
and it is constantly missfiring and i am almost sure the voltage is wrong 6v is doing nothing my 900mah vv ego is certainly alot better than my VT even when my egos battery is about to go flat
Has anyone else had the same problems

The older vision toxes have this problem, you can find an updated control head at several venders, some venders even offered one for free to people who bought one of the older ones from them.
I had the same problem with my tox until I got the metal v3 control head, it works perfectly for me
