ofcourse not , you can vape anywhere if you have permission. You don't strictly need permission but I'd always clear it with a pub landlord first before puffing away at the bar..saves hassle.
My comment below was was said with a 'wink, wink' tone in mind
But surely that doesn't apply to vaping, does it?:p
...and specifically in response to your post below talking about hotel rooms.
talking of hotels , Some ( may even be all ) hotels won't allow smoking inside either , even in your own room so check that out on arrival.
I completely agree though, always mention it to the landlord / manager before we try vaping in a new pub / bar

you could have always posted one of your ecigs and juice to your friends and it would have been there for your arrival ..:)

Yeah, I just don't think she's be comfortable with that.
And now I think I'll just take my M401 and some carts. Don't want to hassle with any possible hassle with juice.
