Vivi Nova 28g oval coil 1mm hemp wick

This is so good I decided it needed a thread. I have been experimenting with hemp and found this product to be excellent. I tried other hemp but this is by far the best I tried. 20lb natural 1mm. 5 yards $1.79 free shipping, I just ordered 10 more yards. It is the first wick I have ever had overwicking. The thread is twisted not braided. On my 28g oval coils I started with two threads thru and one over and it was two much. I am now just using the two threads thru.

For those who don't know the 28g oval coil. Wrapped around two toothpicks.

Here is an oval coil on a A 7 with Lydia's, hard to get a pic inside a Vivi Nova.

Have three going and the one on DNA has Lydias thru and hemp over wick. I am experiencing the best flavor ever with this particular hemp on all my tobacco juices. Have not tried it on pure VG to see if it actually adds flavor, this is so good I haven't even wanted to check.

Sounds great! I just ordered a VAMO SS and debating what atomizer to go with lol... the AGA-T seems a good one but I need to do more home work!

I tried the bamboo and found it gives a really weird flavour. it could be my viv heads but it tastes like... not sure lol... something nasty and part mechanical... I washed and dry burned to no avail.

I will grab some hemp and give it a roll

I tried it in the quartz tube and worked better than the SS. I now have it in the A 7 with the oval coil. Have not tried it yet in a vertical genesis setup.

To be able to use 28g in a vivi nova, the oval lets me get more wire in the small space and get the ohms up to safe levels, and yes more surface area that produces more vaper.

I'm using 32awg A-1 but in an AGA-T and Hydra. I'll be messing around with that lil 1mm stuff for sure; but I like tinkering. Took a Griffin and drilled it for a double wick with 2mm cotton. Wicking great!

The AGA T is very good but heavy, had one on the Vamo and it tipped over and cracked the glass on the coffe table, wife ......, Also the tube cracks on the AGA T so I got some pyrex tanks for it. Dud, Chobra, and AGA T are the three sizes, I personally prefer the Chobra, it is the middle size. Here is my AGA T before I replaced the tank.

I did try the it in the quartz on a Chobra. And yes vertical. I have not tried it vertical without the quartz.

Man, I've been so lazy (thanks to my new Terminator(Ody clone)) that I haven't even boiled my hemp twine yet! I ordered the one you posted BJ. It's a smaller diameter so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it to work in my Ody clone.... I'll get around to it in the next days

Ok made my hemp wick. How long to break it in too get rid of the hemp taste?
Mine looks a bit "coarser" hope it is the right one.

FINALLY got my hemp twine (the one BJ43 posted a link to) 1mm boiled, dried and installed in a few of my attys/RBAs.

In the Vision Vivi Novas I took two 1mm wicks of twine, wrapped A-1 Kanthal 32awg, (4 wraps by hand). Measured 1.8 ohms. Wow. This is a new favourite. Move over candle wick! Seems you get more of a warning before a dry hit than with cotton. Great vapor production and nice taste with peppermint/menthol, unlike Lydia's bamboo thread. The length of the wicks were just long enough to make contact with the tank. The hemp taste mellowed after 3 minutes of vaping.

AGA-T: Used three 1mm wicks; hand-wrapped four times again with 32awg kanthal (2 ohms). I placed the coil vertical, right next to the air hole. Both ends of the wick are in the tank. Hemp taste mellowed after a tank. Hit's good the first 2-3 times, then starts to starve. Vapor production very good.

Terminator-C: used three 1mm long wicks for the ceramic channels and stacked three more shorter ones on top and wrapped 4 times with 32awg kanthal. No leaking so far; vapor is okay, not great. I think I should only use two additional shorter wicks instead of three.
I've ordered a 2mm diameter hemp twine to test for the Terminator but I wanted to see the potential of this in the Term
EDIT: I've since tried with four wicks in the Terminator-C, (same coil) but the wicking wasn't very good. I'll have to wait for the 2mm twine and see.

??? I'm in California. Had no issues buying it off of Ebay. It's available at all arts and crafts stores. It's perfectly legal; certainly here.

Got my 2mm hemp twine in from ebay. It's actually 1.5 mm, and for 2mm beads (lol) Regardless, I boiled it a few times, let it dry, then loaded my Ody clone. It swelled and filled the 2mm ceramic channels nicely!

I'm impressed. Great vapor production. Lot's of chain vaping; much more durable than cotton, works great in my Terminator. I'm a happy camper with this stuff!
