Thank you very much for the answer I wanted to hear! Only 9 left in stock now, thanks to me (I only bought one). 430 feet should last a very long time. The Amazon price is much better than on Ebay, but the quantity is very limited.

Now if I could just find a way to accurately measure the ohms on a coil. $20 ohms readers are hard to find anywhere in stock, but for that price one could order a Vamo from China for $30 and have something a little more useful. I don't want to buy another multimeter just to find out that it can't read low ohms any better than the one I have already. It reads true on batteries which is nice, but I really bought it just to check coil resistance. It reads 1.6 just holding the leads together, I could subtract 1.6 from coil resistance results but I don't trust the thing. If a Vamo is not going to be a decent ohm reader, I don't know what to do. All this has probably been said on many threads, many times before. I apologize, no response is necessary.

I like the double wick coil wrap in post #111. I saw a video with a very similar wrap that I am hoping to try when the Kanthal and wick arrive. I apologize for the noob observations, and thanks again for the wisdom and help. I'll shut up now and get back to reading...

That's fancy! I'm going to try to stick with hemp, maybe mixing it with silica now and then. I fixed my multimeter problem. Cutting the leads down to 4 inches each I get a constant reading of .5 ohms with the wire twisted together. I soldered the shortened lead wires to a 510 connector to get a solid connection, now I can screw in an atty and subtract .5 off the reading. I've tested all the cartos and pre-built heads I have and the heads are spot on, the cartos are perfectly within limits, mostly spot on or +.2 ohms. It might be wrong, but it's consistent. This will work for now, I don't have a lot of choice.

BJ43, what is your preference or knowledge of Kanthal vs. NiChrome? I'm planning on Kanthal but don't want to be missing out on something better before buying a substantial roll.

I personally prefer Kanthal, IMO NiChrome gives me a more metallic taste.

I hear that same answer from everyone I've asked. I don't understand the market for it at all. I've seen the Kanthal website, I understand what it is, and it seems like the only proper choice for us to use. I tried to use 28g like you do, but ran out of space for the coil in the Octopus and Drunker Tank. I'll need a different RBA to use 28g in. Not to show disrespect to this thread but I don't think 28g is for me in the near future. I found a person selling 32g A1 Kanthal for 10-20 ft per dollar, so I may find myself with a lifetime supply of it pretty soon. I plan on having a litle 28g around to attempt a coil like yours depending on the mod it is in. I like the idea of spreading the heat out over a much larger space, if I can find the space to put it in. Thanks for the info, keep it up!

Lol, no disrespect, I have every size of Kanthal from 36 to 26 and also flat ribbon Kanthal. I use 30g for most of my coils, but it is fun to play with the other sizes.

I started with 34g then went down to 32, and now I just got 30g... time will tell whether I will get to 28 or not...

I made an Oval Coil for my VN with the 29g Kanthal I got the other day. The best I could do, to make it fit, was 2.0Ω. How in the world did you ever get a 2Ω 28g Coil to fit in there, Beege?!!!

I don't have any Hemp yet, so I used 2 stands of Natural Peaches and Creme from Wal-Mart. It's working much better than the 1.8Ω Stock Coil Heads ever did, and I have it going now at 4V, where 3.0V on the Stock 1.8Ω Heads was really not right for me.

I should be getting my 30g today or tomorrow, so I'm really looking forward to that. I'm also waiting on the 30g to try the #500 SS Mesh U-Shape in an Oval Wick (that I mentioned earlier). I'll let you know how it goes with that.

I cut out the channels in a VN Head to probably 2mm width (didn't measure it) so I could fit the Peaches and Creme in there, without Choking it. I just kept cutting them wider with my Dremel Tool and a Disc until the Cotton Wick fit nicely, so this wider channel will be good for the #500, too. I also cut them down to the stop rim where the silica cover fits, so the channels are wide and deep now, and because of this, I didn't have to cut slots in the silica cap.

But now that my VN Channels are Deep and Wide, I may not need the Oval Wick in a U-Shape. I'll play with it anyway. That's part of the Fun of Experimenting.

My VTube won't let me Vape much above 4.0V on this 2Ω Coil, even though it's supposed to put out up to 12W. I should be able to go to 4.9V, but I can't. I wanted to experience your 2Ω Coil at 5V preference (BJ's preference), so I mounted the VN on my Computer Power Supply Rig with the eGo-T Passthrough I made a while back. It has a 30W Push Button at the Base (you can't see it here).

I recently added another USB Cable to 5V. This way I get Full Power, and no Timeouts. I must say that with the 29g, it's pretty nice. More Flavor, and definitely more TH, but it's not what I'd do regularly. 4V is good for me at 2Ω, with this 29g.

Yippee!!! My 30g just got here. I heard the Mail Box and went to check. Both my 29g and 30g say ANNEALED. Is that what I'm supposed to have?

So now I get to play with 30g. It's gonna be a Fun Night.

Oops. I didn't mention the Oval Wick here, but that's OK. It's in #500 SS Mesh.

My 30g finally showed up today as well! Just after I got used to 29g. Oh well. I PIF'ed about half of my 29G and a fair amount of hemp wick, so it's all good. 430ft of hemp was too much to keep to myself, I had to share the fun with others.

The only thing I have an oval coil using a hemp wick in is an Octopus. That thing is filled with wick, using more "earthy" liquid like NET's and coffee/chocolate flavors, it tastes very good.
