IDK what "Getting a few drops of liquid on my v max heating element" means (what you mean by that).
The VN can flood when tipped if the wicks are not plugging the gap between them and the silicone cap. Also happens if you draw on it while tipped.
Take off the drip tip, swab out the top. Put drip tip back on. Remove the whole
tank. Blow through the drip tip into a napkin or something and blow all the
juice out of the center tube. Clean the threads on the bottom of the tank and also the PV connection.
Different juices have different viscosity. Particularly with differing PG/VG ratios. That makes a difference in wicking/flooding too.
Make sure the flat side of the washer inside the silicone cap is facing down toward the bottom of the tank (so you don't put it on upside down).
