i just got back yesterday from my trip and fill my vivi nova tank, it worked like a dream for the first 4 hours, i was using a ego-t joytech battery. Everything was good, flavour, good vape, wicks well, until suddenly i got a hit that was dry(without flavour) no burnt taste nothing just hot air, so i tipped and roll, cause i thought the coil was dry. after a few drags the flavour came back on, but after the 3rd puffs or so the same thing happened again, the dry hits, then the weird thing is that i had a very distinct burnt taste after the flavour came back on, its not like the burnt taste you taste when your coils are bad, because with that you only taste the burnt taste with no flavour, this however produces flavour and the flavour comes with what horrible burnt taste, the closest i can describe that taste is like burnt porridge. So i decided to remove the head and change a new one. After removing the head, i threw away 3ml of eliquid and fill up the tank with a new batch, so i removed the wick from the head and dismantle the whole head, i found burnt marks on the washer below which keeps the positive lead and and negative lead in place. so right away i suspected the taste came from there.

So i changed the head, change to a new battery put in new juice, after a few hours the same thing happened entire same story. this time i don't want to dismantle the head as i have already ruined one, and i don't have spare parts to rebuild the coil, i need you guys advice on what to do, i am afraid that its harmful to me this taste, THANKS IN ADVANCE

My blog has lots of info on my adventures with Vivi's, and I also started many threads about fixes, changes, rebuilding, etc...

I personally gave up- which says a lot, because very few devices have given me issues like the Vivi Novas have. But I encourage you to read up and try to make them work...otherwise, maybe try carto tanks next ;)

Some Vivi Novas are still using an insulator at the bottom of the head that gets scorched. I recommend a different Vivi Nova. There isn't much you can do about your current one without rebuilding the head with your own wire and wick. The only recommendation I can make, is to use a head from the other end of the spectrum. If you were using a 1.8, try a 2.8, or vice versa. One or the other may be more likely to heat up quicker, but I'm not sure which. My intuition tells me that the 2.8 would be more likely to get hotter at the insulator. If you try a fresh head, use fresh juice though. That taste tends to linger. The Vision Vivi Nova from Got Vapes doesn't have this problem in my experience. Neither does the non-Vision from steammonkey.com. That's all I know. I think these are using a different insulator or wire configuration to solve the problem.

Try this:

Unscrew the top>take the silicone top off to expose the wire/wick>take a small scissor+tweezer and remove the silicon sleeve surrounding the wick/wire>wash the head>dry with tissue>dry burn in 4-5sec pulse>fill and vape

Cedric does this improve the vap at all,Not having any problems but would like to know.

Nope, it's a fix for burnt taste issue due to burnt silica sleeve. Flavor-wise I prefer cotton batten/cottonball over silica when rebuilding the heads.

mine does not have that =(
What resistance is your VVN head and what voltage are you vaping at?

i just dont get the sudden no vape, no nothing, flavor comes back on after i few hits, but it comes with that burnt or weird taste, and it comes and go
What PG/VG ratio is your eliquid and do you chain vape or take long drags?

If all else fails and you don't have the material to rebuild the heads, then I would do what Starrlamia suggested: a full clean or soak in PGA then dry burn and try again.
