Got a vivi nova today (came with my new vv mod). I have only used bcc's and rda's/rba's till now and I am having probs from the start with it. I am getting Burnt hits with the stock coil at 3.0 ohms and lowest setting of 3.0 volts. I can get maybe a 1 sec puff, then burnt taste. My question is, should I rebuild Right away? I do the tip and swirl thing and all, but do use high VG DIY liquids. Are there flavor wicks I can take out like the PT's and such? Using about 85/15 VG/PG liquid. BTW, it tastes wonderful with my rda. Thanks for any help I can get.

Been a while since I have been around but I still lurk. I used Vivis exclusively for almost a year. I have since dropped them for the Kanger Pro Tank 2. The Vivis are too fiddly and with a high VG juice they are even worse. They do not wick well at all, for the most part, with high VG juices. If you are already using RDAs and RBAs as well as BCCs then I would gift the Vivi to a friend getting started or just pitch it in the trash.

Since you have experience with the rebuildable stuff I do not see the need for you to worry about rebuilding a top coil clearo using high VG juice. No amount of rebuilding is really going to give you what you already have.

You may try thinning your liquid out with some water or pg, because burnt taste is always a liquid feed issue. You can test this by dripping directly onto the coil if you remove the top cap. If that vape is fine and the second is not, then you will have to look at your wick and make sure the coils is not choking it (wrapped too tight say). Unfortunately the disadvantage of high pg liquids is that they wick slowly.

Quickest thing would be to try a new head on it to rule out any issues with the one you have in it now.

Can I ask..did it come with vision vivi nova tanks or smoktech vivi nova tanks? I have never had an issue with vision, smoktech on the other hand I have had a hand full of issues with leaking and burnt taste. I pretty much just empty the tank, give it a thorough cleaning/soak and dry burn it and refill it. Solves my issue of burnt taste.

Or if you have extra heads, give it a go and put one on. I wouldn't rebuild right away unless I ruled out all possibilities I could.

I have had plenty of issues with stock coils. The ohms shown on the head are way off. My 2.4 ohm heads read 2.8 - 3.0 when I metered them. They leak like crazy, even when kept upright. Depending on where you order replacements they may or may not fit properly since they could be bad clones. The list goes on.

If you want to play with them then go ahead, just don't plan on being too impressed. :p

I think the biggest issue for you with the burnt taste is the lack of wicking. Your high VG juice is most likely the cause. Top coils do not like thick liquids.

Interesting that you got a spot on reading. Guess I had bad luck with heads. But it worked out in the end for me. My Private V2 and Igo-W are working wonderfully and I never want to see another Vivi again! :)
