Vivi Nova Mini Concerns

Hi. Since I can only post here in the Newbies section, I created my own thread.

Here are my concerns:

1. I bought the ViVi Nova Mini and all is working well until I tried to clean it. I saw some suggestions to use running water, vodka, hot water, vinegar and diet coke. I first tried running water but I noticed that the clear tube gets frosted. When I put the juice on and vape awhile, some part of it becomes clear again. On my 2nd attempt of cleaning, I soaked all of the parts including the tube on hot water. This is the worst part. The whole tube became frosted. I vaped again and it becomes partially clearer but still frosted. I tried soaking the tube on vinegar, vodka (40%) but the tube becomes frosted. 1 guy suggested to use sandpaper since the frost part is due to the chemicals and it stuck on the tube. I checked by scraping a bit using a screw driver and the frost is being removed. Scraping the whole tube might cause damage since I might scrape the plastic tube. So far, I tried using 600's, 2500's and 2000's of the sandpaper but I can't see the results. Maybe someone might share or have experienced the same issue on clear tubes?

2. Due to the problem above, I am thinking of buying 1 clear tube and 2 metal tubes (silver and black) of Vivi Nova Mini since I found out that it can be bought separately. Unfortunately, from the country where I am in (Philippines), I cannot find anyone who sells retails parts of this unit. I tried GV but it seems they do not deliver here in the Philippines. Metallic tubes are not even available here. Please advise on this one since I really want to buy those tubes :(

What juice are you using? I wash mine with cold water, and then leave to dry. They never get frosty. If your using certain juices they may react with polycarbonate plastic. There's a list here:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-crack-tanks-ce2s-clearos-27.html#post6849917

The latest Vision vivi novas are polypropylene and shouldn't react.

I'd just toss the tank casing and buy metallic tubes. I use metallic tubes sometimes and find them good. Mad Vapes sells them, and I think Discount Vapers do too.

Here's a list of official USA Vision vendors: News Details - Vision High Technology

You may find it easier ordering from official Australian Vision vendors:

For the Philippines I would say try Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail, they usually get packages to USA pretty quick from china. and they are a decent vendor. and have the mini metal tubes for 1.50

At the moment there are shipping problems from Health Cabin if you get it shipped EMS. If you order there get DHL for shipping - and if you can't use DHL then you may find you have a long wait, or your shipment keeps getting turned back by customs in China. And that's happened to people who were just buying vivi novas and vivi heads.

Saw the retails and it does provide a courier to the Philippines :)

The Tube did not crack though. When I tried to scrape off the frost, I smell bubblegum w/c was the 1st e-juice provided from my friend w/c is Homebrew's Bubblegum. I'll let you know if using sandpaper as my other friend claims will put back the transparency.

that is a bummer, does it still taste ok?

I used Holy Smoke's Frapuccino afterwards and it tastes fine. It's just the frost I am concerned of.

The tube doesn't have to crack for it to have been affected by juice. However it does sound more like residue rather than reaction as you're able to scrape it away. Sandpaper sounds a bit extreme though. Hot soapy water and a pipe cleaner or a good cloth you can run through it would be more appropriate, and less chance of damaging the tube.

I just use plain tap water and never had that problem. Diet coke I have never heard of but maybe you bought a knockoff i use all kinds of different juices fruit, tobacco, menthol, and have never had a clear tank go cloudy, But again looking at the pic It could be the juice it looks like a milkshake!
The OHM's should be stamped on the head right near the wicks I think thats one way you can tell if its a real VN.

Don't do it. People have had their orders turned back by China customs not once but twice on the same order. That's what's happening right now. Mad Vapes is good - scroll down on this link:
Replacement Parts - Vision Nova Tanks - Tanks and Clearomizers - E-Cig Parts

Madvapes' replacement tubes for 2.5 ml is not included on their list :( The Vision official site does not provide price for the replacement tubes

Yes, there's a ohm value engraved on the heads.

I forgot to mention that I tried rubbing it w/ cotton buds and used the dishwashing liquids and it has no effect. Though I am curious what does a pipe cleaner look like :)

Your on the right track with your initial idea with the sandpaper. You can get it crystal clear again by using glass sandpaper. They come in small sheets from 1000-10,000 grade. You can find an assortment pack in hobby shops. They're used on model cars. That's how they get those fantastic paint jobs. Still, a lot of work to fix something that isn't broke. You don't really need to see the marks, just use an syringe and fill it with 2 mls.

funny I got 2 orders from china in less then 3 weeks last one was thurs, the customs problem has been reported on batteries like ego and liquids.

Some people have got their orders, and some haven't, because China customs repeatedly sends them back to Health Cabin. And they didn't order batteries or liquid. You can check the Health Cabin forum. I wouldn't say it if it wasn't a real concern. Fortunately I had the DHL option for my order, so that should be ok.

true I forget about the dhl option, just hate to see the guy pay massive shipping from GV in usa to Philippines. if they even ship there.

I get stuff shipped internationally so I always look at the shipping. I think anyone buying off shore does - we have to make it worthwhile. I get cheaper shipping from some US vendors than from China. And then some are way over-priced too.
