So I just got an additional 3
tanks and now have nine more heads to liberate from the stock configuration. Just wanted to share a couple of thoughts here:
1) Open up the slot in the head - go big (Cred. to L7D4N and urquidezj

2) Use a 3mm bolt/machine screw for coil formation (Cred. to Misc ECF Members)

3) Use a plastic straw cut lengthwise for guides (Cred. to Misc ECF Members)

Use the in-place guide to
thread wick material
through coil after tweaking and a multimeter check.
Works great for cheesecloth and all cotton batten (and probably everything else...)

The bolt and guides cut my coil time in half. The larger hole, wick and coil benefits are obvious.
This still need some adjustment to optimize hole opening/coil diameter and amount of wick. Based upon a 3mm coil and head opening, I used a tightly compressed 3MM wick. For cheesecloth, 70 threads twisted very tight = ~3mm, batten you need really squeeze it down and roll in your fingers.
So far no leaks, I am getting monster vapor and I can can chain vape this as fast as my Provari allows. I have not had one dry hit. In fact, this may need to be adjusted down. [Edit - Cheesecloth is working much better than batten. The cotton batten in this setup is a bit too absorbent and probably needs structural support]
The other nice benefit of the larger opening lower in the head is that I do not need to notch the silicon cap. I think meatsneakers brought this question up.
