Vivi Nova Question

Got my Vivi Nova today. At first I kept getting a nasty burnt taste, so boiled all the heads, dryed em off, put the 2.8 ohm head on and viola! excellent vape! About two hours later I was putting away all my stuff and I noticed I never put the silicon cap back on (the one that seals the airway so it doesnt flood-right above the coil) Put it back on and now every other hit I get the burnt taste again. UGH. Anyway, would the cap have anything to do with this? I read somewhere it can choke the wick but that doesnt seem to be the case...the wick has plenty of room, and I also roll and tip it to wet the wick...isnt working.

There is also a piece (cotton?) around the outside of the coil (not wrapped around it...if you were looking down on it, it would look like this (|) ...the cotton being the () part and the coil being the |...

I have a suspicion that maybe the coil is burning the cotton...anyone shed some light on this?

I have a Vivi style tank and my heads all had an extra wick just laying over the coil. I removed them and got slightly better flavor and vapor. If yours is not attached you can try removing it. You can always put it back if need be. In my case the coil would just singe the loose wick.

Did your VIvi come with the long wick? Because I got one with the short wicks all was fine, easy filled it and vaped like a steam train. I got another one and it had the long wicks and totally different heads. It also had the extra wick just hanging there. I just took it off. With this second one with the long wick I keep getting the burned taste. I was going to return it, but you said you boiled the atty heads and wicks? Let me know which one you have, so maybe I can do the same and get it going. I love these tanks soooooo much.

I dont know, but I can only go from my own experience, but the first one I got has short wicks and vapes up a storm of clouds and great taste. The second one I got was long wicked and had problems from the beginning. I even tried to cut the wicks and still doesnt get going. I have a couple more of the short wicked ones coming in anytime now. I will post how these do. Maybe mine is really a version 2? But Ive seen many reviews on the 2.5 with the longer wicks and they perform very well, as a matter of fact PBusardos just put out a review on the VIVI nova 2.5 and he was very pleased, thumbs up.
