Yay my first post, and first mini review.

I have years of experience starting with the first e-cig look alikes back since before disposables were obtainable... which I think they should dispose the disposables off the face of the earth for giving people horrible experiences in trying to quit analogs. Although there are quite a few which I played around with that are not so bad. I even had some fun recharging and refilling them lol!

The vivi nova. Its good stuff. No leaking what so ever unless you hold it upside down and shake it really hard, juice will come out but you literally have to make it come out. I experience no leaking.

What I dont like is this and before I continue I would like to say that some do not get this same experience that I am getting. I do get dry hits. I do have to CONSTANTLY flip it and turn it around just to get the wick to get wet and I dont understand how that is even possible with the darn thing filled at 85% and mind you its a 3.5 ML tank. If the wicks are wet then its all good. But how do they look wet and taste dry some times? Overall, I should not be experiencing a dry hit AT ALL and I do although its only happening to 15% of my hits. The other 85% of my hits are perfectly fine until it starts to taste dry and burning and I have to flip it around and upside down to keep vaping. I really dont know what it is and I wish someone more experienced than me could answer this.

The only extra info I can offer is my juice which kinda sucks. It is a few flavors from madvapes... I think is 50/50 11MG... 24 MG is extremely harsh and unvapable. I think I'm not vaping their juice because it taste cheap to me. Not much flavor and quality is low, in a tank about 50% of the juice left after vaping is tasteless, taste weird, and is unpleasant.

Other than having to flip it around and try to wet the wicks even though its almost filled to the max, it is one of the best vaping devices I've had, great vape, great flavor, great everything. And ultra silent.

One more thing... how long are these replaceable atomizers supposed to last? I'd say after 2 weeks ill take the rubber cap off to look at the coil up close and its burnt to a crisp even with babying it constantly wetting the wicks to not get a dry hit, it will still burn up. I can even stick the ecig up my nose and smell that funny old atty burnt smell. It's actually not a good smell. So after 2 weeks I can pop in another atty and feel a maaaajor difference with everything.

I'll still give it a 7/10.
8.5/10 IF IT WASNT GIVING ME DRY HITS~!!!
(am I the only one this happens to?)
(yes I tried several attys of different OHMS)

Nice review. I have a couple of vivinovas, and find at time they leak down the central tube and make gurgling noises. This is only if I leave the thing on its side all night.I love the flavor from them. I have noticed as the juice is reduced, the colour darkens and the flavor gets maybe a little more caramelly. I quite like this. One of my vivinovas half the middle pin fell of, maybe I over tightened it, it still works fine.I have yet to kill an atomiser of anysort yet.

I have 2 ViVi's that are still going on the original heads (2.4ohm) 2 moths now.

I have cleaned them after a bit of time by rinsing out all parts with very warm water and running a small current of water over the coils. I ensure the wicks are visually clean of any juice and then lie them on a paper towel and gently press another paper towel thus kinda squeezing them between the paper towels. This wicks up most of the moisture and letting them sit for a few mins to an hour (depending on how quick I need me) I re-assemble everything but the top cap and the silicon cap on the atty.

I will gently dry burn this until the coils are hot and can see each strand and do this enough times then submerge, just a quick gentle dunk, into some fresh water in a small saucer. This breaks up any baked on crud for the most part and dunking shocks them into releasing the gunk as ash back into the water. Be careful with this as you can over do the dry burn and a dunk or two and pop the atty wire.

After doing this I dry burn until red hot once more and let it cool to the touch, re-assemble the remaining pieces and fill with juice. So far I've done this 3-5 times for each over the last 2 months and I'm still on the original heads.

YMMV..

Cheers,
~Icky

Thank you for taking the time to post your experiences with the Vivi Novas. I haven't vaped anything over 30 VG in my Vivi Novas yet which may be why I have had no issues with dry hits. Also, I lay my Twists on their sides between vapes which keeps the wicks wet. I have both the normal size and minis.

I've got my wick rebuilding supplies at the ready but my Vivi Novas have been going strong for six weeks. After two or three fills I rinse, dry burn, rinse again and allow them to air dry overnight. I use the excellent directions in this video, A PBusardo Tutorial - Vivi Nova Cleaning & Rebuilding.

I can rebuild a vivi nova under 5 minutes now and i dont bother cleaning the wick, i simply rebuild them. I personally feel that they produce better vapor and taste once they are rebuilt.

The dry hits are also an non-issue because i always hold my pv sideways when vaping ang flat on the table. Now i use 400 SS mesh on my buids and they have been great!

Definitely my favorite tank, next in line is my Genny clone. Vape on!

Nice first post :) Yeah the VNs are known for the possible dry hit issue. In this video: A PBusardo Review - Vivi Nova 2.5 - YouTube he mentions that you need to twirl, and tip it to prevent it. I just tip it once towards the back wick, and then tip it towards me when I take my vape, and I never get a dry hit. I'm so used to doing it now, I find my self doing it if I'm using a carto tank, or a carto...its just a reflex now :p These are great little units, and I just keep adding to my VN tank collection.

Vivi novas have made my life so much easier. I avoided them at first but when people started raving about the new version I ordered a couple. I'm pretty much down to all rebuildables now and its a whole lot cheaper and easier than ordering and punching cartos all the time. The first vivi I got I stuck the 1.8 ohm head on and got almost no vapor on my 3.7v device so I checked the resistance and instead of being 1.8ohm it was like 3.9. I took apart all the heads and I rewick and recoil them myself with 32g Kanthal for nice 1.8 ohm heads with a short 3mm wick. I figured I have to tip anyway and long wicks were flooding. I cant say they arent without a learning curve and even more so if trying to use premade heads but I'm really liking them.

Hey guys new to the forum just thought I'd share my experience. Love the vn also. I actually rebuild mine with cotton wicks. Number 4 100% cotton yarn from Wal-Mart. The ss mesh is very nice too. I still tilt and twirl out of habbit but no dry hits. There's lots of good videos on rebuilding vn's on YouTube.

Wow thanks everyone for the replies I feel at home with all the cool people on here and love to hear other peoples experiences. From having so many bad experiences in my life with crappy cartos and hole punching that just doesnt work right and attys burning up... UGH were in the future lets solve this problem already! But I feel because of this great forum I will no longer cry for spending my money on worthless stuff.

OMG haha I thought I was the only one filpping my cig like a wizard of harrypotter. There really is no better solution. I hear you, I do all sorts of kungfu with my tank so that I'm not getting a dry hit.

2 weeks seems about right to me but starting today I will see if cleaning makes a difference because as I note, its not easy to get the crud/rusty stuff off of the coil. I tried previously with alcohol and a little scrubbing (which in the end broke the wire) and I suppose alcohol is not the way to go. I have not seem the cleaning video but I will right now.

Vape on! I do too hold it sideways, upside down, inside out, black and white, apples and oranges, honda toyota, once its wet its wet but to get it wet I do all sorts of things... mainly what everyone here is saying is completely true.. for now I'll just say im doing yoga or kungfu with my ecig so that the chi energy is flowing through the wicks providing these good hits...

Off to watch the cleaning video. Btw, when we say rebuilding the heads are we talking about re-solder? How is the wire attached to make contact? Seems hard. Ill take my chances buying new atty heads for now as I've gone through enough hard times and vaped some deadly stuff in the past. (ugh...)

Oh the tipping. I don't find it too bad or annoying but then again, I don't chain vape to the extreme like I used to. I've started cleaning my heads after every tank since I built up so much juice on two of the other heads I had to the point where dry burning couldn't even penetrate the build up. It's all a learning experience. So far this head is in good shape! Just keep the heads clean and do the tip dance and the Vivi will treat you well.

I would like you to make me some! Mesh with no wick? Or mesh wrapped around wick? Sounds really interesting. I'm done buying attys and cartos after I finally have this vivi nova!

lol that wasn't me you quoted, Trolly said that. I haven't rebuilt a VN coil yet, as soon as one goes out I will...we'll hopefully

I have one as well, and have rebuilt the heads on them all using 32ga kanthal & cotton yarn for the wicks. Works pretty well. I do notice that it is missing a bit of the TH, and I use Madvapes Top-Vapor juice as well @ 24mg. Aside from the lack of TH, I personally think these rock if you rebuild them. I may have to try the 36mg to see if it will kick up the TH a bit for me.

Oh wow, I personally think anything over 24 is overkill. The mad grapes and blueberry lemon (yuck) at 24mg was killing my throat and anyone that hit it. I felt sorry for letting people try that harshness. So I saw the video and I am content and convinced that the dry hits will be resolved by modifying the head slightly such as making slits on the rubber cap and re-wicking to that guys specs. I do notice a better experience through the 2.8ohm only because it has a more heavy duty wick although I am using the bolt with a 18500, the bolt is still doing a decent job with the 2.8 head. I ordered 5 of the 1.8 ohm last night. Is 1.8 what I need for the bolt?
