Vivi Novas and all top coils (as far as I know) require the tilt/turn maneuver to keep the wicks wet. Failing to do this VERY regularly will result in dry hits. Re-wetting the wicks frequently almost never gives a dry hit. Nature of the beast.

Edit: Vivi Nova is an excellent top coli clearo. I've had 5 of them running for 8 or 9 months.

I use the vivi nova mega and I don't get dry hits. I don't know what I'm doing that is different but a lot have said they don't like them. To me I haven't found anything more cost efficient. You def have to get the genuine vision ones. I have been using them about 7 months now. Every juice delivery device will have some idiosyncrasies but most times a small fix can help that. It just takes a little experimenting. I tend to raise my ecig horizontal when vaping and usually top it off when Half full. I also clean and dryburn at least every 2 tankfuls. The ce4 types were problematic from the getgo. They were hard to clean and leaked for me.

Thanks very much for that ...so its a defo genuine thing with the Nova ....i have tried many different ce4 brands but they ALL do the same ...dry hits or break ....bottom fed ones would work kinda like the rok star tank which is bottom fed but even thats not without problems ....:)

My wife started with a metal vivi nova and IMO the flavor is terrible and she had some leaking (though I'm not sure if she just didn't have it screwed together all the way). I started with and iClear 30 and have had no issues so far, good vape, good flavor, no leaks. I'm going to try a protank and some evods, and if I don't like those I will be sticking with the iClears.

i have 2 vivi novas and 1 ce6...i could not HATE the ce6 more....the only way i have been able to even use it is little teeny tiny cigar style hits...once i order more of almost any delivery system but a CE i will....i dunno what...i wouldn't even give it away.....
i am not sure what the diff is between a ce4 and ce6 but of course CE has been tainted for me forever...had i started vaping on the ce...i would still be smoking (yeah i really hate it that much) LOL

I like my novas and I like my protank. So far (without tinkering with it), the protank does get dry hits more frequently than the nova I've found. But I could probably remove one of the wicks and remedy that easily. On the issue of PG vs VG, tbh, I've found that PG liquids give me dry hits while VG liquids rarely do. Once the wick is fully saturated, the VG is very thick and stays for a while, whereas PG is very light and evaporates in no time, giving me quicker dry hits and making me burn more liquid per hit. I may be wrong, but this is just how it appears to me. I'd go ahead and get the nova, its a great device if you maintain it properly. Be sure you buy the authentic Vision Vivi Novas, not the knock offs.

I used to use CE4 Stardusts and had a couple of them out of maybe 8 that leaked out the bottom after a few weeks of use. The main issue I had with them was the coil/wick would need dry burning after every 3-4 refills. I started using VN's a few months ago and have never had a leak. All other performance metrics are better too; flavor, vapor and less maintenance needed. These days I use 95% VN's and carto tanks.

Well I started off with the CE4 and had a couple that worked great. I have also had some that flood and leak constantly and I rarely use them since I got my Vivi Nova, Mini Vivi Nova, Kanger T3, T2 and EVODS. I also just got a Kanger Protank and it is working very well so far.

So - of the above I really like my EVOD and the Mini Vivi Nova - but it might just be because of their weight and size. The larger Vivi Nova has also worked very well - but it is bigger and heavier. I have used the Vivi Novas for months now and have only replaced the head on the larger one once and the mini twice. However, with the last head replacement on my mini - I took it with me to Vegas and actually had problems for the first time with it leaking :glare:

Not sure what was causing it - but since I was not at home I just filled my EVOD and it worked great. Since I have been home I have cleaned the mini - but since I came home to the new Protank I have not got back to trying it to see if since I cleaned it if the leaking will continue. Since it only started with a new head - if it continues I will just try another head.

The Kanger T3 and T2 also work well for me - as long as I keep the tank filled above the 1 ml mark. If I let them get too much lower then they start with the gurgling that I hate. So far (fingers crossed) I have not had this problem with the EVOD or Protank.

Good luck in your search - nothing more frustrating than not having a juice delivery device that works.

ETA: I am using all of the above on my eGo Twists and Vision Spinner

When the Atty head gets really crusted up it will give some dry hits. But they are easy to replace or rebuild I keep a supply of 3 kinds of heater wire and a also silica wick so I can rebuild on in about 5-10 mins. They can also be cleaned a few times before you have to rebuild them. For me what happens is a crust builds up around the heating element blocking off air and restricting liquid flow on the wick. You can maybe clean them a couple of times before replacing them for rebuilding them. This has been my experience. OH I find that flavors like Mocha, Chocolate anything and any sweet flavor crud up more. My fruit flavors which I do not sweeten are not as bad. IME.
