Heartfelt apologies if this is too far on the redundant side. And no hard feelings if it gets deleted because of that. I read through the long thread about the Vivi Nova to find the solution that has worked for me and don't claim any credit whatsoever for discovering it on my own. Just wanted to hopefully make this easy to find for those who may not have the time or patience to read so much to find it. Kind of the Reader's Digest version if you will.
The steps that worked for me:
1. Remove the top "floating" wick.
2. Don't push the little rubber cap down all the way, let the top cap push it to exactly where it needs to be when you re-install it.
3. Trim the long wicks so that they are approximately 3/8 - 1/2 inch on both sides.
I did this to my Vivi with the head that's installed out of the box and it is now the best thing I've tried for both flavour and vapour.
When I first unboxed it and loaded it up I had great vapour and very muted flavour just as several other people have experienced. I put it in a bag with several other tanks last week on my way out the door to go camping. By the time I got to the campsite the Vivi had relieved itself all over its friends and neighbors in the bag. It seems I may have not tightened the top and/or bottom cap enough is my guess.
Anyway, I had a little time to get it all cleaned up today. Since it was now empty I tried trimming the wicks as I'd seen in that long thread. Filled it with a pretty thick juice just kinda going for broke and spun it onto my APV. This head checks out at 2.3 ohms so I set my APV to 3.7 volts for the new trial run. Man oh man! This is the best vape I've had to date. Haven't even adjusted voltage yet because it's just so nice.
Again, hope this helps someone. It's an extremely easy tweak. I don't like to have to mess with things other than fill them and go because I'm afraid I'll break something. This was just as easy as filling it with juice.
Can't wait to get a few more Vivi Novas now. This may now be loved by me more than the Stardust simply because of 510 threading and larger capacity.
Thanks to all those brave souls in the long thread for supplying me with the information and nerve to tweak this tank.
