Before anyone flames, I've done all the research regarding the issue. I've removed one wick incase it was too tight, removed the white cloth collar surrounding the coil, swig the unit before I vape, nothing works. Using it on a Vamo at 7 watts. Unit reads 2.8 - 2.9ohms resistance, dual 18350 eFests. Confirmed this is a genuine unit (purchased from Vapor Alley). The air holes are in the right place and the stem is correct.

The most aggravating part of this is, sometimes it doesn't give off a burnt taste (muted flavor though), sometimes it does and simply doesn't go away.

The only thing I can visually see is that the coils are touching each other (not the outer ring) which I haven't seen on my other cartos. Could this be the problem? I've used an original Vivi Nova and never had any problems, surprisingly.

I can re-wick it, but it's amazing how terrible they are out of the box. Thanks in advance for any assistance you all can provide.

7 watts is a bit high in my experience with VN's. I find they work much better and more reliably around 6 watts. Also, gotta keep the coil saturated with juice - tilt/turn before almost every vape. They've been good to me for the last 8 months or so.

Cool, let me give the lower wattage a shot for a few days. Thanks for the advice.
