This problem is driving me demented, hopefully someone can help me eliminate it once and for all.
I use a vamo at around 6-7 watts. I've used Vivi nova, Vivi nova mini, iclear dual coil - all at various ohms 1.8 to 2.4.
I let juice sit for hours, spin it, lay on side, upside down.
The issue is no matter what I will get burnt wick in the middle plus burnt plastic coil thing within a few days of having a new head in there.
What the heck is going on.
Thanks

The stock replacement heads can often be pretty poor in quality. I metered one of my "1.8Ω" heads at 3Ω.

Also they seem to wrap the coil too tight on average, which can slow down the flow to the coil.

You could always try laying some bamboo, cotton or hemp twine across the top of the coil and replace the silicon grommet to hold it in place. Or if you're willing, rebuilding them really does make them all a different beast. My VVN with bamboo fiber works an absolute treat.

Could also look into carto-tanks. They are a tiny bit more laborious than clearos but from the sounds of it a lot of people swear by them.

Hi Scotiwis - I don't know to be honest. I have noticed my wicks get a bit gunked up where the coils are - so I wash them and do a dryburn. Have you tried that? I clean and dryburn after a couple of tanks full myself.

    No you can't
It all depends on your wick, juice, voltage/watts.
If you’re using cotton wicks there burn easy with novas.
I’m using the same setup as you. Switch over to volts start out at 3 volts work your way up slowly not burning the wick.
Once the wick gets burnt, game over change wick or try washing it let it dry before useing it.

Good explanation on how to use volt/wattage charts

I have noticed the same. After a day or 2 after installing a brand new head - I can see the wick getting dark where it comes out of the head. This basically just gets worse and worse until it starts to effect the taste and then I replace the head - heads are lasting me anywhere from 1-2 weeks. Then I put the heads into a pile to eventually rebuild.

I haven't had any luck cleaning them - every head I've tried to clean has never performed well again.

I figured it's just the nature of the beast . . . . . .as my taste buds get better and better I can notice the burnt taste sooner. I am currently vaping on a head I installed yesterday and I can already taste the difference from when it was brand new. I am going to look into some alternate wick materials when I start rebuilding. . just got my multimeter in the mail today.

I find a cleaned dry burned head can be as good as a new one. I'll put this video here - Scot this is what I was talking about. The first half of the video. Don't worry about the second half on rebuilding just yet:

Also - you may have done this - is the Vamo in RMS mode? That no. 2. If you hold down one of the small buttons for about 10 seconds it will say No 1 or No 2 - if it says No 2 leave it there - that's the accurate RMS setting. If it says No 1 hold the button down again until it change to No 2. No 1 hits harder than what you set. Quite a few people didn't realise this so I thought I'd mention it.

Make sure your VAMO is tuned to Vrms, not Vavg.

i was going to say, maybe it's your PV because having that bad of luck is usually on my side of the table :)
all of those different tanks and you're getting burnt flavors ? very strange.

" Vivi nova, Vivi nova mini, iclear dual coil"

I would put your PV to 3.0V and vape and see if you're still getting a burnt taste.
The one head i got last night was in such bad shape i just ripped out and will rebuild it later with cotton. I can understand 1 or 2 bad heads, but on everything? wow.

Put a regular atomizer on your PV and drip some liquid and let us know how it tastes
