Has anyone had any draw issues with this combo?

was trying out the vivi nova 2.5 and on the p16, p+ 16 and 650s it has to be screwed tight to fire but then you can't get any aiairflow going to use this on a 350 flat top when they become available but would like to try it out :)

i do have a 510-510 adaptor than I can try in the meantime though

thx
darrin

EDIT: with the 510-510 adaptor, it is working perfectly... looks a little weird but will hold me over till a kicklet top comes in. then can get the 18350 when it comes available

I personally don't like adjustable pins, some designs out there tend to leak and/or move or are set in threaded delrin (which will just wear out, leak or move). In over three years of using our Press in pin design, we've never had a single failure or leakage, which is a testament to the design. I just can't abandon that sort of reliability.

The PrecisePlus pin is at the correct height, set so that the bottom of the atomizer/cartomizer tube sits flush with the cap, any higher and you'd have an unsightly gap.

IMO, it is the tank and rebuildable atomizers builders who need to "universalize" their products. Their are so many of them, we can't make a unit to fit them all. Being tanks/rebuildables are the universal product and cost less, designed to fit many units, they are the ones needing to create a universal connection.

NOTE to all manufacturers, take a look at my Kiklet, it has the correct connection length: add 15 thousandths to your connector lengths and you'll fit 99% of the units out there.

Heres some pictures to illustrate. The problem is, some Tank and Rebuildable atomizer builders are just taking the connector specs off atomizers/catomizers, which are fine for a thin atomizer, but for a tank which overhangs, its too short and they aren't taking this into account.

As you can see with the Pic below, the atomizer bottom sits just about at flush with the flat of the top cap, perfect for airflow and aesthetics. Where some manufactures are running into problems, is they are just basing their tank/rba connector lengths off atomizer connector lengths which is too short.

As you can see, that length connector won't work as tanks overhang, so they'll either bottom out on the flat of the cap before making connection with the center post, or make connection, but be so close to the cap, they block airflow:

The Solution as you can see illustrated on my Kicklet Pic, is to add approximately .015 thousandths length over atomizer connector lengths, which will lift the tank up slightly off the cap accomplishing both proper connection and maintaining proper air flow:

Yes David...much thanx. I need to get mine in shape, and was holding off till the top (slotted) and bottom caps are offered for sale. Is this happening anytime soon, or should I roll the dice and purchase the kicklet top cap by itself? I have grown fond of the Mini and full size Nova's, and want to use them (20+) on my P+18650....

My Nova's fire without issue, but simply has no draw...

Can you just take a dremel cut off wheel and slot the bottom of the Nova for airflow?

Damn...Thats why your rich and famous, and I'm nobody...Great idea...
The 510 connecting stem is integrated into the base, which sucks, but I'll give it a go...

I'll still be checking now and then for the replacement bottom and top caps however...

so will the novas work with the slotted caps? I sure hope so or i may have an issue with my orders for the p+ as im using novas almost exclusively

I think he had one of the non-slotted style caps, the new caps are cross slotted for air flow on tanks.

good news. Its sort of crazy using the high end mods with a ole cheapo nova but the damn thing work great and are so simple to rebuild.

Tick, I'm with you on that mentality. My, undisputed, favorite RBA is a simple dripping A7. There's something about a Precise and dripping to ME, that just go hand in hand. If you told me 4 months ago that I would be loving a $17 dollar atomizer on top of my $180 Precise, I would seriously laugh at you.

At the end of the day, we ALWAYS go back to simplicity. My Provaris have been in hibernation for well over 4 months after using a 1.3ohms RBA on my P+, lol.

Take care,

Nic

Yes, mine is an older one. Non slotted.
I agree with thatick, the Nova's are indeed cheap, and probably dont belong on a P+, but they are relatively hassle free, and produce a nice vape. At first I was giving David's suggestion some serious thought, and decided against it, in favor of just replacing the caps...

I have way too many Nova's that would require modification..........

Didn't work for me.. With a kicklet cap, and screwing the nova all the way down doesn't make a connection

ohh thats not good and u not the first person that ive heard having connection issues with novas. Ugghh looks like i may have to do a return on my 2 p+ i have ordered. damn, i really want the p+ but ive already put too much into stocking up on my novas (for the coming zombie apocolypse of course)
Did u try pulling the firing pin on the vivi? That may help, just got to be gentle

I look at it this way, I wouldn't base the purchase of a PrecisePlus on any one particular tank/rba like the vivi, the Precise was around before them and no doubt will be around after many of them. There are many fine tanks/rbas/atomizers that currently fit and a couple of rba's/tanks that we have in the works for the P+ that we believe are a game changer and will blow your socks off!!!
