Howdy folks,

So I went ahead and bought a vivi tank from AltSmoke and a couple replaceable heads. I love the DCTs, but I don't really want to have a whole pile of O-Rings for when they go out (frequently), so I thought that the Vivi tank looked like a good option to get away from the DCT.

Unboxed it and noticed immediately that the thread wouldn't go into my SB. I didn't try it on my Alpha, because it's a bit too wide for the way that I depress the button. Then I went over to my eGo, and it threads on there, although it sticks up quite a bit.

This is going to be used primarily on my SB, for around the house/car. Shorty 510 adapter lets it thread in, but it doesn't seat nicely, and the tank wiggles in the adapter.

Any ideas on this?

Thanks!
-X

Edit: I'm mostly wondering if this is a problem with the tanks, or if I maybe got a bum one?

I had this problem with an HH.357 atty and Chad said it was due to the difference in tolerances for the threading from different manufacturers. He said you should modify the threads on the atty (I assume that means sand them down a bit?). I don't know, I just decided not to use the HH.357 on the SB as I have other cartos and atties that work fine. Check out his response here:

Thank you for your reply.

The problem is that I can't even get it started to thread on the SB, but it screws into my Alpha...and not my adapters, except for one strangely. If the threading would start going at any point, I would try sanding it down, but it seems like a different problem than that.

I pulled the vivi tank's atomizer head apart, and the atty itself will screw into my alpha and my eGo, but the SB's threading seems to be too large. Same issue with the whole unit. (The Vivi tank comes apart, and the tank itself has basically an extender down the middle that attaches (via 510 connection) to their proprietary atty-head. Thus the atty and the base of the tank are both male 510 connectors.)

So, quick facts.
Vivi Tank fits: Alpha, eGo-T 650mAh, 510 Yeti manual passthrough, 510 VV Box-Mod from MadVapes.
Doesn't fit: My Silver Bullet.

Now, I haven't filled it with liquid yet, or even tested to make sure it fires. If I'm going to have to send back the unit, I'd rather not have it all full of my gunk.

Given that it at least screws into every other mod that I own, is it possible that there's something wrong with my SB's threading? I use DCT's on my SB currently, and my SmokTech carto's fit fine on it.

Thanks folks,

From the sounds of it yes. I use boge cartos to test the units. It is possible that the carto I was using that day was smaller than normal. Weird I know. SDubmit a ticket on altsmoke.com I will handle it from there. I finally got to see one of those Vivi tanks yesterday. Those things are center post killers, then one I handled that damn center post was sticking up over 1/8 inch. Not sure what is going on on the other side of the pond, but it seems QC is worse than ever.
