Hi all! I am just about sold on the Vapor King, I just have one question/concern. I heard the battery is triggered by sound, is that only in close proximity, or sound in general/wind... I go to college in Oswego, NY and the wind is insane, will this be a problem with the Vapor King? Also, would loud music set this off? Any insight would be greatly valued. Thanks!

I updated my review video to correct this perception, which was probably caused by me.

It's not that theyre triggered by sound, its that theyre incredibly sensitive, and occasionally you'll get one thats super duper sensitive (malfunction)...apparently thats pretty rare. I had one that you could plink on the end...lightly..and the light would light..and slipping it in the little sleeve would activate it (of course it'd go out after briefly activating). That same battery also had a tendency to stick on, and began not taking a full charge. We determined that battery was a failure from the factory and Steve is replacing it.

Why did we come to this conclusion? Because my other battery works flawlessly. Theyre not sound activating, its an air pressure switch but it's a very sensitive one (has to be to properly use a VK)

Many e-cigs use sound batteries as opposed to air pressure switches because the manufacturers percieve them as more dependable and less likely to get ruined by juice.. The auto batteries for JOYE 510 are an example. True 901's on the other hand use air pressure switches.

Loud stereos and other noises never set off that malfunctioning battery, but the slightest impact and very little airflow did. I'm not too worried about it now, it's tossed aside for emergencies as I have a new one on the way.

its also important to note that with a properly functioning battery, air flow *through* the device is required to activate. Placing one of the little rubber cartridge condoms on the mouthpiece of the assembled unit not only keeps your loaded cart fresher, but acts as a "safety" and prevents airflow *through* the unit, preventing premature vaporization. I always carry mine like that now, mostly to keep my juice fresh.
