Hi, I am a new member to this forum from th UK. I have been vaping for about a year on and off, and finally gave up smoking about a month ago. Any way, a friend gave me his VMAX VV to mod as it was DOA and he got it replaced gratis. Having looked at it, I believe it may be repairable and was wondering if anyone has seen this before, and more to the point, does anyone know of a way to repair it?

Is it just a simple short or will it require replacement parts, in which case it will shortly become my new passthrough! Thanks for looking, and double thanks if anyone can help.....

Yeah, that does look like a stuck button, with one caveat. That is what it would do if you held the button on the 2nd menu option for Voltage Down (2.Ud). However, if I hold the button down and take the batteries out, it does not go back to the second menu option. I'm assuming yours continues to do this after batteries have been removed/replaced? There has been a revision to the firmware, so mine may or may not be indicative of what yours would do.

Do keep us posted if your tinkering succeeds!

You can see the button on the board if you look up the tube.
Did you try finding a long thin screwdriver and moving the switch from inside the tube?
If the worst comes to the worst you can also use a long thin screwdriver to pop the cap off the top of the Vmax - careful you don't mess with the board when you insert the screwdriver.

The board and button slide right out when the top cap is removed - should give you ample access to the button.
