I'm a new vaper with over $300 invested (within a months time) in my cessation of smoking analogs via vaping. This dollar amount includes equipment and DIY supplies. I did research on ECF before buying my 1st kit. I found that the newest system was the almighty tank atty system, so I went about surfin t3h interwebz for the best kit/price/shipping/etc. I happened to click on the vendors list, coupon code list and found Volcano through an ad on ECF. Ooo, I thought. A tank kit with a 1000mah AND a 650mah battery that DOUBLES as a passthrough?? Ooo! I gotta have that! Special 2 day shipping?? Well, I want it yesterday, sooo... Volcano got my 1st order. I ordered the Inferno-T kit, an extra tank atty (the other EgoT kits come with 2 atties, generally), an extra 5-pack of tanks, and their extra o-rings, because well, o-rings go bad, right? What were these o-rings for? For an extra $.50 in revenue to Volcano. That's what for lol.
Within the 1st week of vaping I was all over ECF trying to figure out the inconsistent vapor/flavor. One atty tasted like air. The other tasted like welding arc smells (burnt metal). This was very dissatisfying. I contacted Volcano via their site message system and was instructed to check out their site forum regarding cleaning and maintenance tips for the tank atties. I had already been over and above those procedures because of info I learned here at ECF. I wanted a replacement! I mean, I spent alot of money from the door (over $100). I just want a product that WORKS! It's especially important to ME, a brand-new vaper, someone who needs quality equipment immediately, because this equipment may be the deciding factor to continuing my transition from smoking.
After a reply to their suggestion to clean the atties (I had already blown out the primer, run hot tap water, dried, primed with e-juice, all that good stuff before contacting them), I said I was requesting a return authorization, as I believed I had received defective equipment. This was before the threads started popping up on ECF about how to position/adjust wicks in the tank spike tubes. I was informed that tankomizers are "consumable" and are not covered under their warranty! WTF?? I hadn't had them 2 weeks when I started a claim!! OK, I thought. Maybe they ARE consumable OR maybe I got a bad batch. Either way, I'm determined to start vaping, dammit! I ordered not 1, no, not 1 but 2, 2 tankomizers! Now, boys and girls, I'm into this thing over $130, and I'm not happy, yet. The 3rd and 4th atomizers were a little better, but the inconsistent flavor/vapor production was still present. I knew what the answer would be if I requested replacements lol (that's a sarcastic lol BTW haha).
My Mom has been smoking for decades and through the process of me getting into the vaping life, she wanted a kit. I ordered a 510 Deluxe V-kit from Volcano at that point, prior to receiving the self-bought "replacement" tankomizers. I had advised her on the advice from ECF to go with manual batteries vs autos and thought that's what came from Volcano. NOPE. They sell failure-prone autos, too! No problems from those just yet, but am waiting for the inevitable and have advised her to purchase manual batteries as well as new atomizers or cartos ASAP.
Well, just last weekend, I plug my 650mah passthru battery from Volcano in while I'm sitting at home, and... "WTF??? No vapor??
Gawdammit!!!!" Totally dead. The end lit-up where the USB plugs in, but no current or light when the button is depressed.
I'm waiting on a return envelope from Volcano at this point. I sent another equipment ticket on the passthru which was replied with questions regarding the care and operation of the battery. I responded, but the response was "lost" because I used my Android system. Apparently, If you use their message system with anything other than Firefox, your message is prone to loss, too. It's not just your wallet. I got the return label being shipped because I called the 1-800# vs trying their problematic site message system.
IMHO Volcanoecigs.com sells inferior equipment. I am able to base this opinion on the fact that I bought a EgoT kit from a local member, Skullfreak, who had bought it from Cignot, and upon inspecting the like-new equipment was AMAZED at the superior performance. Both flavor AND vapor are substantially better!
My 1000mah battery from Volcano is still holding up. I have the Ego-type charger from them in operation, also (green LED indicator light was stuck "on" with a dead battery plugged in last night tho). I hope to God Almighty that my Mom's Deluxe V-kit form Volcano holds-up to her transitioning away from the habit that's got her coughing up buckets, as she's not the type to be determined enough to keep trying. If it goes ....-up, she'll most likely go right back to analogs vs investing in another kit from a supplier with more dependable equipment.
I've spent $219.36 at Volcanoecigs.com and am dissatisfied. I feel duped. They do not stand behind their products and their products fail. If I had better equipment, warranty coverage, customer service and less ring-jumping, I would have been more forgiving of the bad original tankomizers. Now, I am pretty sure I will have no use for the special discount credits I've earned through their purchase system, as my business will more than likely go to a more conscientious vendor.
Sorry for the long rant... Just my $.02. Take it for what it is.

I am , however, a cuss-word expert.
** If someone from customer service at Volcano would like to contact me via PM in regards to reconciling my dissatisfaction, I am willing to update and amend this post to reflect any change in my opinion.
That's a hint if you'd like to retain a customer.
