Volt Battery/Carto Question

I have a Volt 808 automatic coming in the mail.
As far as refilling their standard cartomizers, their website says to make sure to "never fill them on an automatic battery."
Does this mean don't fill them while they are connected to an automatic or not refill and use these on the automatics at all? I assume it's the former but want to make sure. Their wording is confusing.

It means don't fill them while they're connected to the battery.

Also, after you fill the cartomizer, it's a good idea to get a tissue and wipe off the battery end so as not to get liquid in your battery. Certain models it will kill the battery. Also good idea to keep your charger connection clean.
