Been a long time lurker now, going on about 3 months. Last weekend I went into a local smoke shop to get cigs. I am 42 and have been smoking since I was 16. I smoke about a pack a day on a bad/stressful day. While in the tobacco shop I seen a Cig2O kit sitting there for $15. I asked questions about it and she told me they were really popular. I hesitated, but then I thought, "what the heck" so I bought it instead of cigs. When I got home, I put it together and tried it. I was not impressed with how hard you have to suck on this thing. lol BUT after 2 days I am actually liking it. I knew though, that from visiting here the last few months, there were many other options available. But everything is so overwhelming. I know that I am not interested in juicing or filling my own cartos or any of that stuff. I was never into rolling my own cigs either. Its just not THAT important to me. After many many hours of research I think I have narrowed my choice down to the Volt from Smokeless Image. I know that I want something "girly" but all the choices are just crazy and unsure what all the talk on 501, 510, 901, etc is all about. I don't know what is compatible with what. I was trying to avoid having to always buying refills online just because that is a pain in the ..... But I am starting to think that is my only choice since the small town I live in is not going to have anything like this for a while, so readily available.

So basically, I know that I want girly, thin, pen type. I use to be worried about battery drainage, but even my Cig2O battery lasts me 2 days on 1 charge. I seen a video on You Tube the other day and and know exactly what I want... The raspberry or pink battery, black cartridge and the pink mouth piece. Are the mouth pieces universal?

Kanal von steeljan - YouTube This is SteelJans You Tube with the setup I want.

Anyone have suggestions or ideas? I guess I just need clarification that I am doing this right. lol

Sounds like you are on the right track there. I loved the Volt. The Volt is an kr-808 battery connection, but they fit a 510 drip tip (mouth piece). So you should be good to go. There is also Smoove and Vape 4 Life if you are looking for prefilled cartomizers and cig style batteries.

I fill my own cartomizers, and it is much eaisier than rolling your own cigerettes, and it opens up a world of differnt juicies/flavors that aren't available in pre-filled. I equate filling your own cartomizers to packing your pack of cigs. Just a quick bit of dripping or using the condom method. It's really easy and if you keep topping off your cartomizers they will last longer and taste better. Topping off is getting an already filled on and dripping some juice into the filler.

Hi Stacey. Welcome to ECF! :)

I'm a Volt user and I love them. If you decide to order Volt, my advice would be to get the Standard Starter Kit. You get two batteries, 5 cartomizers (of your choice), a usb charger and a wall adapter. You get to choose the battery colors and length and whether or not you want autos or manuals. And they don't have to be the same, you get those choices for each battery.

What a lot of vapers do is get prefilled cartos and refill juice in the same flavor. That way you can top off the cartos and keep them filled. They last longer that way and save you a lot of money. Smokeless Image has some good juice flavors and I use a few of them myself. There are also lots of juice vendors if you decide to try other flavors. Finding flavors which you like is usually the hardest part of vaping. But there are lots of good flavors out there.

Good luck with whatever ecig you decide on. But I can tell you, you won't go wrong with a Volt. It's a great pv and SI has great customer service. They also ship fast, usually within 24 hours and sometimes the same day you order.

If you have any questions, please ask.

I got my Volt late Thursday. I smoked a good pack a day for over 45 years. I have/had no intention of quitting analogs but wanted something that might be acceptable in certain social situations. I figured if I cut my smoking in half it will be a worthwhile investment.
So far today I've had one cigarette...or I should say a few drags of one. It tasted like garbage and I find that hard to believe. I had no intention of quitting but i think the Volt is bringing me on that path. I do not feel like I am " chain vaping" though there were many days I felt as I was chain smoking.
I can't compare the Volt to any of the others since this is my first attempt at ecigs...but... I am more than pleased. My whole family is happy. I don't think you could go wrong with trying it. If's it not the answer then you can try another.
I can't tell you how many times I've tried to stop smoking. Chantix, hypnosis, the patch, nicotine inhaler, cold turkey etc - you name it and I tried it. Nothing was as easy as this so far and you have to remember that I wasn't even thinking of quitting.
Good luck to you and let us know what you decide.

Stacey - I would say the Volt is a great choice. I use one. My better half uses one. Have we used all of the four million different types and options available on the market that could easily make your brain hurt in research? Nope! Have we used and compared everything that is similar to a Volt? Nope! ...and we didn't intend to before we purchased.

We're in a similar boat where we aren't blessed with a retail store of any sort for this market anywhere near us and of course we read and lurked here and simultaneously a) learned, b) got more confused, and c) almost got analysis paralysis. But the wealth of options, combinations, problems and virtues found throughout both the market and these forums are what led us to the Volt.

We wanted to stop reading and start trying. Initially we wanted our most complex thought and action to be screwing two pieces together and plugging something in a wall or USB port to charge. But we wanted to use something rather than worry about something, especially knowing we'd have to figure out Nic levels, flavors, and everything else in between.

SI and the Volt kept coming up in recommendations from new folks and also people who had 47 devices, a mad scientist laboratory and where their primary device was the size of a blender. But in addition to that, the two things that really stood out for us reading ECF in regard to it was we just weren't seeing people...complain -- about the product or about customer service. We've only been playing around for a few weeks now but have made I think three orders from SI and spoken with them for general questions. We haven't had a thing to complain about either.

I'd say...just go for it. Give it a try, get your feet wet. But it seems from a company, marketing and support perspective, SI -wants- to keep things simple, keep a reputation, and get people out of analysis paralysis and give them an easy option and honestly I think they do a great job at it.

BTW, as you mentioned an interest, we do buy pre-filled carts. We also have bought juice and done refills. Buying pre-filled isn't something looked on favorably on ECF or more frequently the question of filling being cheaper, not much of a hassle, more options, so why bother? For us, we wanted the -easiest- from the start but we also liked the idea of simply having it as an option, and in NJ with cartons being $75-85 each and being a heavy smoker, even if we kept buying pre-filled, it would never come close to what we were paying as smokers. But again, get your feet wet and you may find you're willing to go through the minimal effort.

Hiya Stacy :) Volt is a really good way to get started. Very simple to use, good prices, good flavors, good customer service. Don't worry about refilling just yet - you may get to that stage someday (sooner than you think). Get a couple batteries, a charger, and a couple variety packs of flavors and see which ones float your boat. Get comfortable and happy you made the right choice :) And after you have a few more posts you can come visit us on the Smokeless Image (Volt) forum thread (think you need 5 or 10 here first).

Smokeless Image is the only vendor I recommend to my newbie friends that want to get off analogs.

Myself, I'm a big batt person. I use my Volt where discretion is involved.

The Volt is an excellent choice for beginners because of its powerful vapor, slim form factor, and general plug and play use.
Refilling cartos isn't much of a hassle once you get used to it.

By the way, if you will be discarding your cartos after one use, please pm me and I'll send you a prepaid mailer. I'd gladly take them off your hands!! :vapor: :D

Hi Stacey,
Volt is a great choice to start. And refilling your own cartomizers are not the same as rolling your own cig. It's very easy, not much of a hassle. And there are myriads choice of yummy e-liquids out there. You'll be amazed how wonderful the world of vaping is.

another voltie here lol... as you can see we dont complain about our Volt's much. I have had 510's shorties and long ones and also Ego's and to be honest they were ok... yup just ok and the cartomizer issues dont get me started!!! I spent a small fortune trying to find something that was easy, no fuss and gave me a similair feel to having a smoke... and finally I found Volt... I would definately stop thinking about it and start shopping you wont be disapointed! Try the pre filled cartos until you find what you are looking for (you can buy samplers in the prefilled too) once you find the flavour you like dont be afraid to buy their juice, all you need to do is top up your cartos in the evening ready for the next day and pack them in with some batteries and you are good to go!! Welcome to ECF.

WOW! Ya'll are are awesome!! I think I have made up my mind. Smokeless Image.com here I come....

I actually had not intended on quitting cigs. I bought the Cig2O on Friday basically just to use in my car (I bought a new one :p ) and I have only smoked 4 cigs in 3 days. So, if this piece of garbage will help me quit then I so cannot wait to get my Volt.

Question: The throat hit is based on the nicotine strength? The Cig2O I got is 18mg, but the throat hit is not consistent and I was kinda hoping to go to a lower nicotine level. Looks like there is going to be alot of trial and error in my future.

Looking at the flavors on SI, I am at a loss. LOL I really hate waste so ordering either pre-filled or juices is a little brain rattling. I am not a fruity type person and was originally going to stick with the tobacco flavors, but now I am not sure there either lol. I thought I would try the RY4 or vanilla, maybe both. But the Vanilla from what I can see has 0 nic. ?? That is fine with me actually, as long as I get the vape and throat hit.

I can really see how people can quit smoking on accident.

Thank you. And of all the reviews and You Tubes and posts here, the Volt didn't have any bad reviews. Not on product, or customer service.

You are saying that the pre-fills cartos can be just topped off with the same flavor juice without taking the thing apart? I am sitting here looking at my Cig2O and there is a small hole on the end. This is where the drops would go in? I am really sorry for asking what are probably very silly questions.

I am really excited about this. I don't know if its the fact that I know now I can actually quit smoking or the excitement of learning the world of vaping. lol

Everyone suggests getting 2 batteries. I guess I can see to have a backup in case one fries or breaks or for whatever reason, but some of the posts I have read on the hardcore users (don't know another way of saying that lol) freaking out because a battery dies. It only takes an hour or two tops to recharge right? lol Is it really that big of a deal?

Stacey, regarding the Vanilla only shown with 0 nic. SI has a shipment of juice that has arrived in Ohio and should soon be on their site. They also have more batteries on the way. Right now all the colors aren't in stock. Oh yeah, they also have sample packs of pre-filled cartos.

If the ejuice you're using now has 18mg of nic you might want to stick with that at first. You can always drop down after you see how you do.

LOL if you're dying for a smoke two hours can seem awfully long.
