Vision Spinner is an excellent starting point. Manual and variable voltage is the key to a good vape (it's all about the temperature at the coil as far as battery is concerned). Thought Shari's advice was quite good:

I have two 1300mah Vision Spinners, a couple of Evods (Kanger), replacement heads and a Joye 510 atty that I drip juices into to taste flavors. Three weeks in and no smoking. I can stay with this for as long as I want. If I decide to get a Vamo or SVD or something a step up from the spinner, anything that fits my spinner will fit that new device. It was worth it to me.

Best Starter Combo kit out there, imho, provides batteries, i.e., the twist and/or spinner, and two toppers, i.e., the eVod and/or MT3s, among others: http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm. This is by far the most recommended kit on the New Members Forum, and for good reason. Here are your choices:

Stick Batteries, known as eGo Style Batteries (entry level, backup, out and about, stealth, primary):

Trusted Vendors shown, but NOT selected based on pricing, you'll still need to shop around. You will need device specific battery chargers (which often come in kits) for these devices. Also, kits often provide two batteries allowing for simultaneous vaping while charging of the backup. Each of the eGo style batteries below have both 510 and eGo thread connections. As such, they are compatible with most toppers, including most Kanger products. Additionally, each of these devices has at least variable voltage, which allows you to adjust and regulate the battery output voltage, providing customizable vapor production, temperature, throat hit, and finding the "sweet spot" for your juices to suit your individual vaping preferences:

1. Innokin iTaste 3.0 vv/vw, usb passthrough, ohms reader, etc. - https://ivape.net/index.php/iTaste-VV-3.0-Variable-Wattage-Device-Pearl-Chrome.html (variable power, LCD display, +/- buttons, Usb passthrough, 3.3 - 5.0 volts, 6.0 - 11.0 watts, 800mAh)
2. SLB KGO VV - http://www.hoosierecig.com/Mega-KGO-VV-1200mAh-3-6v-_p_441.html (LCD display, +/- buttons, Usb passthrough, 3.0 - 6.0 volts, 650 - 1200mAh)
3. Vision Spinner - Vision Spinner VV eGo Battery 1300mAh (3.3 - 4.8 volts, 1300mAh)
4. Joyetech Twist - eGo Twist 1000 Mah Battery in Black (3.2 - 4.8 volts, 650 - 1000mAh)
5. Smoktech Winder - Smok eGo Winder 900mAh Variable Volt Battery (3.2 - 4.8 volts, 900 - 1100mAh)

Either the previously recommended kit, or if you're feeling outrageously adventurous, jump to a pair of the iTaste 3.0's. Not a better stick battery in the world. Smaller than a Spinner/Twist, as feature rich as a Vamo. These babies will stay with you far longer than the ego's. Anyway, my :2c:. You're on the right track, just open it up a little bit. You'll get better gear and a better vape!

I'll just add that I was able to stop smoking using the 78mm Volts from Smokeless Image. I also had a couple of the larger X2 batteries, which are essentially re-branded eGo batteries with 808 thread. Smokeless Image is a great company to start out with and even to get to the "mid-level" stage of vaping with the Volt Spinner. However, SI does not offer anything more advanced, such as a mod with replaceable, rechargeable batteries. I was ready for that stage of vaping after just 3 weeks of being smoke-free.

I went with SI's sister company, AltSmoke and got a BB and Silver Bullet mod to get to the advanced level of vaping. A few months after that I got my first Provari, a high end variable voltage mod. I currently use a couple of Provari's with cartotanks and a small bottom feeder box mod (mechanical) as my primary APVs. I have found my "sweet spot" in vaping.

I share this to let you know that everyone's path will be different. Some people find a comfortable spot at a particular stage and stay there. Other vapors are forever chasing the elusive spot that may not even exist. That Volt Spinner might be perfect for you, or you may find it to be only a slight improvement over the 78mm Volts.

For some vapors, this becomes more than an alternative to smoking. It also becomes a hobby.

The advantage of going with a mod or advanced personal vaporizer (APV) is a more durable battery device which should last years, over a semi-disposable battery system that will only last weeks in comparison. An APV offers the ability to use replaceable batteries, which can last up to a year in use and are only $6 - $9 to replace new. An APV can use a far larger selection of juice delivery devices to fine tune your vape setup, some of them quite advanced in design and maintanance.

You Tube will soon become your friend. Anything old or new in vapping can be found by doing a search and finding either a review or a demonstration of a device or technique.

Excellent advice from everyone here, as usual.

I started with the V2 Cigalikes, which worked but were lacking (Woulda gone with the SI volts from the start, had I done some more research). I moved to a x2 passthru and a volt spinner. Great little packages and honestly, if SI offered a 510 thread, they'd would have probably been where I stayed up until now, to be honest. SI has excellent customer service, and the products on are on par with vision or joyetech brands. I bought a 808->510 adapter and to this day I still use the passthru and the SI spinner, most often for my little ce3's that SI sells... I use those for flavors I like, but don't want to fill up an entire EVOD or carto tank with), though I've been considering the classies or just PIF'ing them to someone that can use them.

That all being said, I don't like the "adapted" look, and feel that having the adapter might potentially expose and ruin threads someday, so I went to two vision spinners and the EVODs clearos (from the package that Bill linked at MVS, actually). LOVE the output from the EVODs and the visions will run ANYTHING out there that is ego/ 510 threading.

Since all that has happened, I've purchased a Vamo, an MVP, and I'm kinda looking at the Innokin V3 for a "mini variable wattage on the go" setup.

One day, I'm sure I'll get a provari, and perhaps a squonker (REO, probably), but for now, the "shiny bug" is under control, and I am enjoying my different options. (to all the non believers out there, no, I am not plugging a provari to a new person, just stating that I personally want to add one to my arsenal :) )

(I'm lucky enough that my SO makes enough to completely cover us, so my cash is almost all for "fun stuff" for us. Meals out, movies, new shiny tech, etc, and that I make enough as a chef to enjoy things in my free time (which lemme tell ya, ain't a lot!!!)

Do I think I spent too much over the course of it all? Probably. But it's been a fun journey, and whatever works to keep you off the nails is the best thing for you, at least at that time. Don't give up, and stay strong, and soon enough, it will be all about the pleasures of vaping, and the great community you are now a part of!

Thanks everyone for your responses..

I've decided to go with a Vision. I do agree with allot of valid points.. the 510 threading should be more preferable.. and there's allot of great mods/ Ego accessories I can play with..

I can't thank this community enough..

My very last questions... Honestly! lol

Allot of people swear by the Kanger MT3/ Evod for a tank... However, Doing tons of research, there a swing and miss. Allot of people report leaking issues and having to work out some small repairs.

That being said.... I was actually thinking I would possibly try out the vision VT Ego Clearomizer Tank instead. Input?
