The Volt really is a great little form factor. It is everything I expected. More vapor than the disposables I was using, and lower nicotine.

12mg vs 6mg: What is the difference other than amount of nicotine? Is there a difference in flavor? I smoke ultra lights cigarettes, and smoked a lot. But now I love vapor. I know nicotine is a vaso-constrictor and not the best for my BP. I love some of the 12mg flavors, would there be a noticeable difference in flavor if I drop down? (for example with grape, ry4, vanilla) The throat hit is big to me at 12mg btw.

I am sure some people here have tried both and can comment. My nicotine addiction is not as strong as my cigarette habit. I love having a cigarette in my hand. The volt is even better sized than the disposables I had been using, but I want to go as low as possible. For now I am only using the volt sparingly, I want to use it more, but want to limit my nicotine. I started with 12 because I figured it was middle of the road.

BTW, my wife says RY4 smells like burnt sugar. I have to agree, but it does have a distinct tobaccoish flavor also. It's weird, but good.

yes because it is based on parts per ml.... less nic in a ml has to be replaced by something...which is usually flavoring. Also nic has a bitter taste so removing some will bring out the flavor more.

Really? Flavor increases? Well that would be actually good. I am looking forward to a consensus. If this is true then going lower will be a no brainer. Thank you.

yes what imagine says is true for me...I started on 24mg...being a heavy smoker...I needed that high nic level...it didn't take me long...to cut down to 18mg...I found the hardest getting to 12mg...took me 2mths to be happy with th...I just recently went down to 6mg...first few days were hard...so im rotating 12mgs 9mgs 6mgs....my sore eyes are better..and only a few headaches...and what imagine said...lower nic better flavour...im loving the flavour...so I can see 6mg will be my stay at level......maybe in a few mths..ill try to bring in zeros....but for now im happy....I started a thread in here few weeks back....theres some very good reads on folks journey on there nic level journey....im glad you found vaping....enjoy the volt ride....ive had so much enjoyment...

It's true, flavor increases more with decreased nicotine. I started out at 24mg (occasionally vaped 36mg), and I found it pretty easy to decrease to 18mg. Better flavor, and still plenty of TH. But I've tried to reduce to 12mg, and it just doesn't pack enough throat hit for me. Maybe someday I'll be able to sacrifice the TH for even more flavor. But I'm pretty happy where I am right now.

Funny because throat hit is really hard to me with 12mg. Maybe I'm a wimp. I smoked like 2 packs a day of ultra lights...because I loved to smoke, but did not like how I felt with stronger cigarettes.

What you all are telling me is actually very positive to me. I am 99% going to order 6% because thats the weakest strength for some of the flavors. It's the flavor that I really like, not the throat hit. Like I have said, I am addicted to having a cig in my hand more than smoking itself.

If the 12 feels harsh or makes you cough, then yeah, maybe time to step down. I started with 12 and can't handle the TH anymore since I stepped down to 6. But like Lizzie said, maybe do it gradually, by buying the same flavor in 6 and 12, then mixing them together in different ratios, until you're really comfortable with 6.

hi ya AD :)

I was an ultra light smoker too. My first juice order (after my prosmoke kit debauchle) I got 12mg, 6mg and 0mg juices - somehow knowing that I was going to vape WAY more than I smoked and also knowing that I wanted to try every flavor I could.

I do get more flavor in no nic juices than in 12s of the same flavor. There are some mints.. menthols and some other thing - throat hit something or other that can add back TH if you're missing it. I'm not so much about throat hit as nose hit so cutting back on the nic and going with cool hits for that exhale thing works for me.

opal. We seem alike. I found a couple flavors I like so that's a bonus. More flavor is more important than nicotine. I know NOW that 12mg is way stronger than I am used to. I feel lightheaded and just weird if I vape too much so I am really doing it sparingly. Nose hit. We really are alike. I never blew smoke out my nose, BUT with vapor I really like exhaling partially through my nose to really "feel" the flavor.

Thanks all for the opinions!

Welcome!

I think 6mg is a no brainer for you.... Also if any SI flavors do not have a full selection [0, 6, 12, 18, 24], it may just be out of stock temporarily. Definitely try the 6, and if it works for you, get 0 as well. You can use 0 to mix with others to come up with in between strengths. If you can get off nicotine altogether, go for it.

I started at 24, and quickly stepped down to 18, then 12. Right now, I use 18 or 12 in the morning, then 12 most of the day, and save my 6mg juices for evenings. I also rotate about a dozen or so flavors. The big thing about vaping is changing things up keeps it interesting. It doesn't have to be the same 1 flavor all the time, like smoking was.
