I have been wondering this too as I have been looking to upgrade (currently have SI Volt)... The X2 seems like a better deal since it is a pass-thru. Also when you factor in the cost of the necessary usb charger for the Triton, they are basically the same price.

How do you like that X2, by the way? Do you use SI carts or clearomizers with it?

Good point on the charger cost. Eve though I don't use it as a pass-thru, I didn't have to spring for a charger. Already have a 1000mAh wall adapter so I am good.

And I love the X2. I didn't like having a manual with my cigalikes, but I love it with the X2. Lasts the whole day easily. I actually use the X2 clearomizers and the V2 Liquimax. Just ordered some e-smart clearos too. I have long lost my desire for cartos since discovering liquids and clearos.

I am interested in this comparison as well. Been considering these two options. I like the way the halo looks a little better as it has less silver on the bottom because it doesn't have that pass through cap, but the x2 is a little cheaper. Of course looks probably isn't the best way to pick a device but kind of matters. So lets give this a bump and see if anyone has experience with both to compare the performance.

oh another thing I found difference is size.

650 900 1300
Halo is 2.94" 3.53" 3.92"
Volt is 3.75" 4.25" 4.75"

It is a device that works when plugged into a power supply. I think normally they don't even have a battery. The X2 isn't a true pass-thru, it is a regular battery with a pass-thru function that lets you use it while it is charging. If it is plugged in and charging and you go to use it, it stops charging when you push the button and starts charging again when you release.

The X2 passthru jack and circuits cause the extra length. When halo brings out the Triton passthru it will probably be the the same length as the X2 with the same mAh. I'm using 900's for both, had to get use to the shorter Triton, which is basically the same length as the SI T3. Yes, for those still wondering both large and small threads are the same for both vendors, complete interchangeability.

I've been using a 900 mah X2 since November, I have 2 of them. I go through almost 3 mils of liquid a day and one lasts me most of the day on a charge. I use the T3 mini tank because the larger one is just too bulky for me. I love them and they are still going strong. Since my original cig-a-likes were from Halo I really wanted to stay loyal but those were worthless to me so I switched. When I learned Halo had an 808 thread battery that was similar to the X2 I decided to buy them. My husband wanted the smaller Triton (400 mah) so I got him the kit, it is a little more expensive than the X2 but it is all very nice quality and if the charger holds up it will be a one time cost so eventually the Triton will be about the same if not less in price. I also purchased a 900 & 1300 mah Triton for myself. I have only used the 1300 one day and on the original out of the box charge, it lasted one full day of heavy vaping, I am hoping for longer on the next charge. I used my T3 mini tank because I am not fond of the top coil (and larger) tank that Halo sells. It is a warmer vape and my husband prefers the warmer feel to the cooler one of a bottom coil like I use. I believe the replacement wick unit of Halo will end up less expensive than the X2 replacement coil and may last longer as well. I don't know yet....will update once he uses them more.

Honestly I believe the 2 will end up being about the same and it will end up a preference of top or bottom coil. The batteries will depend on whether or not you use the pass through or not, I don't see that as important. The Triton is much shorter at higher mah and that is nice. They are both, in my humble opinion, very good products and I am going to have a difficult time deciding which I will purchase when I need a new one!

Just saw Halo released the Triton battery and tank set-up. I already have a Volt X2 and it looks like the Triton is essentially the same but a little cheaper. Besides not being a pass-thru (for now) is there any difference in these two batteries???

Practically, they are same thing, even the battery coating. Both turn on/off with 5 clicks and offer the same voltage range. Halo has more discrete branding, which I like. Volt has very "LOUD" branding, but more color options. I have 1300mAh X2 for the passthrough feature (have most of my flavors rotating in triton tanks, which are essentially Kanger T2's but longer wicks). Great for long drives or working in front of the computer. It's a lad larger than triton's 1300mAh. Performance wise, they seem about the same. The difference factors for me are purely cosmetics and costs. Of course, Halo doesn't have passthrough. The VV model is just about the same.

Both will take 808 threaded carto/clearomizers. I like halo's G6 tanks better than SI's nanos for the performance and cosmetics reasons.

I own the X2 in 900mAh auto and 650mAh manual. I love the performance of both, but the ease of use of the auto has me preferring it as go-to PV. I have not seen an automatic option with Halo's products yet, so that is another difference between the two. SI also now has their VV in an automatic now as well. This is again purely personal preference. I own both SI and Halo gear, and love them both; particularly since they are so similar and thusly interchangeable.
