Hello all,

I need some advice concerning voltage drop.

I'm currently running an Society Vapors Athena with an kayfun 4, using Kanthal wire 28awg wrapped to a coil with 0.9 Ohm.
The mod is set to 15 watts.
If I put a fully charged battery in the mod it shows naturally 4.2volts on the screen, once I push the fire button the voltage dropps to 3.2volts.
Thats a drop of 1 volt.... I always was under the impression that anything from 0.3 to 0.5 is normal....

Well, how can I improve this?

Thanks

Alex

I'm not familiar with the mod, but I think it might be showing you the battery sag? Generally you will see more sag on older batteries, lower resistance builds or as the battery charge starts dropping from use. Does the vape feel right? If it does, I think sag might be what you're seeing.

Hopefully someone familiar with the mod chimes in.

Hm, the batteries are maybe 2 month old and I have five of them in rotation. So in other words they are like new.
The vape is fine, however, as soon as the voltage dropps below 3volt with pressed fire button, the chip is cutting power down to 10watts....and that's unpleasant.
I may get 3-4 hours of use out of the battery until the chip is cutting power.
I need to find do a way to reduce the voltage drop.
As said, my build is 0.9 ohm, so not really low.
