What would you set, say, a 2.4 ohm vivi nova to on your vamo? I seem to just burn the heck out of them no matter what I try!

talula,

Try between 5 and 7 watts or 3.4 to 4.2 volts. Somewhere in there you should find the sweet spot, just don't go above about 4.5 v or 8.4 watts as it will be getting pretty warm and you risk your coil. Good luck! :)

i always have wick burning taste issues with wick based tanks. no matter how low i set the voltage, or how far i dial down the kick in my stinger, i can't seem to get awy from it, and i have tired it with numerous resistance coils, and i can't get over that burn. it's a real shame, because before i upgraded, and upgraded, and upgraded...the only thing i can use with those joyus little juice whores is to use them on my ego twist, then, for about the first half of the tank, it's a stellar vape. great taste, great vapor, great throat hit (depending on whether that's your thing). same for the standard size ones...work great on the ego twist (look strange), until about half a tank. i attribute this to wicking well and doing what they are supposed to do, but i've got to find an answer to this issue.

Good rule of thumb to remember when setting volts is to add 2 to your atomizer/carto etc so for 2ohms it would be

2ohms + 2 = 4.0 volts. This should get you pretty close. From there adjust up or down one way or another according to taste.
If that works for you, you can then look at a wattage chart to figure out where to set the watts.

Its my understanding that watts arent as accurate as volts so that might be part of your problem......use watts when switching accessories or ohms to get yourself in range, then fine tune with volts.

I'm in RMS mode and my dual coil smoktech 1.5 ohm carto likes about 3.8 volts.

*edit* the resistance of the carto according to the VAMO is 1.6 ohms. According to a chart my voltage is probably too high, but the dual coil cartos are kind of a different animal compared with the single coil standard resistance stuff.
