Hi, today I would like to talk to you again about Drag X Plus this time in the Professional Edition version. I can anticipate that the definitive kit will host a new revised and updated TPP tank 2.0, this tank was not ready at the time of shipment, so it was not delivered to me.

I would also like to announce that the Mod Drag X Plus Professional Edition has gotten a major update from the VooPoo technicians! I will reveal this detail only at the end of the review. So I hope you have the patience to follow me.

Drag X Plus Mod Professional Edition, first impressions:
When I first saw the very small package that VooPoo sent me I thought it was a new Pod device or a tank, given the small size of the casing. To my surprise I soon discovered that it was instead a Drag X Plus with replaceable batteries, but what was different with the specimen that I had only reviewed for a few months I couldn't understand? So I started looking into this new Mod.
Weight, handling and record size have remained unchanged and this is an added value because Drag X Plus is certainly among the most graceful and manageable Mod 21700 on the market.

Drag X Plus Mod Professional Edition Vs Drag X Plus.
Almost everything has been said about the previous and beautiful Drag X Plus, so it's pretty difficult to find differences between two products that share the same design, the same form factor and the same details. However, some minimal visual differences can be found by comparing the two versions I own. (Professional edition & Classic)
The fundamental difference immediately catches the eye, you can see that the part of the handle of Drag X Plus Professional Edition has been covered in imitation leather (all color variants), while the surface of Drag X Plus "Classic" was covered with suede leather. I think all the colors available were. So on the "Professional" version we find a more elegant decoration (but it depends on personal points of view and tastes) however the material that covers the handle of Drag X Plus is certainly less prone to getting dirty, so I prefer it.

Side view compared:
Even in the side view the only visible difference is due to the decoration material that extends almost to the front profile of the Mod.
On Drag X Classic with the passage of time and with intense use, the suede leather material has absorbed some traces of e-liquid and got dirty.
I am sure that on Drag X Plus Professional Edition this will not happen as the surface is easy to clean and does not absorb liquids like a sponge.

Comparison Front View:
I do not detect any visual difference with the previous model both versions use a lively 0.96 inch color screen (TFT) that clearly shows the vaping data and offers the possibility of displaying two different themes; Vertical display (Iron) or horizontal display (Core). The layout of the Type-C socket and the "+" and "-" keys remains unchanged.

Thread 510 and compartment / batteries:
Here it is a real "copy and paste" compared to the X Plus Classic, nothing bad as they are robust and proven solutions.

The method to access the compartment / batteries is always "sliding" it is a reliable and fast system, I much prefer it compared to solutions with a screw cap. Inside the Mod there is an adapter for 18650 cells

The upper part of the X Plus sees the presence of a 510 cup with floating pin, the cup is screwed to the mod via two Torx screws and is slightly raised to avoid scratches when screwing / unscrewing the tanks. Atomizers up to 29mm in diameter can be installed without protrusions.

TPP Tank Platform 2.0:
I don't have much information on what improvements have been made to version 2.0 of VooPoo's popular Tank TPP. It seems that the tank will once again be proposed with the magnetic connection at the base. The base judging the images will be able to accommodate all the TPP and PnP tanks made by VooPoo, and perhaps the AFC ring has been modified to obtain a better air flow.

MTL Tank and DL Tank:
What's an MTL tank doing on the new Drag X Plus Professional Edition? Will it work as it should? A little more patience and you will find out.

VooPoo Drag X Plus Professional Edition operation guide:
* I would say the following also applies to Drag X Plus "Classic".
Key combination:
• Five clicks on the Fire button to turn the mod on / off.
• Three clicks on the fire button to choose between Smart mode (yellow background) or RBA mode (blue background).
1) Smart mode (yellow screen) the Gene Chip automatically sets the coil to the optimum wattage and prevents an adjustment above the physical limit of the coil by indicating "Max Power" on the display.
2) RBA mode (blue screen) Allows you to freely adjust the power.
• Puff reset, click the "-" and Fire keys at the same time.
• To view the ID and Level code, press the Up, Down and Fire buttons at the same time.
• To quickly lock / unlock all keys, press the "+" and Fire keys at the same time.
• To change the theme, press the "-" and "+" keys at the same time, select "Iron" for the classic display view, select "Core" to view the display horizontally.

Security features:
I would say that the underlying and important safety functions essential to protect the person in case of device malfunctions are also unchanged.

Final remarks.
We have come to the end of a "particular" review as many of you could rightly object that it was enough to put an image with two lines of text to explain why Drag X Plus Professional Edition differs from Drag X Plus Classic, however I like to complicate myself life. So I chose this type of description starting from scratch to get to the "core of the matter" keeping you on your toes (you will forgive me) even if some of you the most attentive will have already understood this "mystery" from the beginning simply by reading the card containing technical features.

As many of you know, the Drag X Plus Classic version (which derived from the previous Pod Drag X and Drag S) was optimized to be used especially with proprietary tanks equipped with performing sub-ohm resistors. This on the one hand made most of the users happy who had purchased and used it for what was conceived (i.e.) the sub-ohm vape.
Until there have been cases of people who have started complaining about malfunctions with Tank Mtl and high resistances. Initially I did not notice this detail having used it with the proprietary TPP tank. So I faced the problem with not a few difficulties (not being an electronic technician), but I got busy and interacted with both VooPoo and some dissatisfied customers who complained after a certain level of lowering of the battery the impossibility of using the power in step / up, therefore only in step / down with obvious difficulties of use with certain resistances and with semi-discharged battery.

With X Plus Special Professional Edition this no longer happens, thanks finally to an output system with boost that determines a very stable and constant management during the entire battery discharge phase. So at high wattages and using coils with low resistive value and which require little voltage, the performance remained practically equivalent and optimal. While with Coil / MTL with high resistive value that require adequate Volts the values always remain constant even with the battery almost discharged.

In the images below I compare two screens, one with a full battery and one with an almost empty battery. Same 1.2Ω MTL resistor and same tank. Now the nice thing is that with any MTL coil, I don't detect any differences and the step / up is always possible so now you are free (by entering the RBA mode) to burn your coils at will.

Maybe ... But I am not able to anticipate this at the moment, there will be a new FW to download, with which to update the previous Drag X Plus version as well.
In the case of a new release, consumers have access to the update of the latest version of the software on the official VooPoo website (www.voopoo.com). The operation requires the specific USB Type-C cable supplied with the product to connect to the computer. The side of the Type-C cable marked "▲" must be facing down. For the operation insert a fully charged cell.

Now you will ask yourself; do you recommend this Mod? The answer is definitely yes! I recommend it! Because I already liked it a lot before, and now with this small intervention I think it is one of the most attractive entry level devices on the market.
